I got my DD a ballpit for het first birthday and she absoloutly loves it, she uses it every day and she is now coming up to her second birthday, it also can double as a paddling pool in the summer months (when we get the sun)

We bought our DD the most gorgeous dress, which she wore at her first birthday party, however it was coming apart at the seams...took it back, got as refund and put the money in her bank account!
And there wasn't even an MSE site back then! (She's 8 now)
For a first birthday, those wooden jigsaws with the pegs on them to slot them into the cutouts- available from ELC and so on, although you may already have them.Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

You mentioned you already had walkers, but if you haven't got the Vtech First Steps Baby Walker I would recommend it. We got our daughter one for her first birthday and she is still playing with it now (she's 2 years 7 months). She still pushes it all around the house and the front part is detachable so they can just sit and play with that bit if they want.

Thanks, we've got it already, albeit a slightly older version, and yes she loves it and is already toddling around the living room with it. The newer version looks a bit more interesting with keyboard, but can't justify buying it again for that, especially when we've got keyboards on other toys lol.
I've been looking on amazon and reading reviews and still am without inspiration. Looks like it's going to be an outdoor toy for next "summer" and as r mac suggests, any milder dry winter days we might get!
Another problem I've got with indoor toys is that we are running out of space for anything too big unfortunately. Love the idea of the ballpit, but just not go the room for it.0 -
We bought DS a ball pit too for his 1st birthday, it came with a sack for the balls and a pop up tent so could be stored quite easily. He also loved his pop up tunnel at that age.Mortgage OP 2025 £7050/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000

Like the idea of it folding down, can you remember where you got it from ss?0 -

We bought our daughter turf for the garden! We had loads of decking that wass severely child unfriendly so we spent the money on turf for the garden and her godfather bought her a slide!
She didn't care we bought her some small stuff to open - balls and things, but when the summer (what we've had of one) came she's loved the new garden!0
