    Debt-free and Proud!
Morning all - I was on holiday last week (just in the UK, after my fancier holiday earlier this year), and now am back to work and MSE ways. Sadly I am ill (flu-like symptoms I think, but not flu), so work is proving a challenge.

    Today I'm going to:

    - check in on the NSD challenge and total up my NSDs for July. I think I should be on track, if I have a few more NSDs until the end of the month.

    - Do my YNAB categories for next month. August is my expensive month, with numerous birthdays and anniversaries.

    - Work my way through some surveys if I have the energy

    - Early night!

Good job you checked your banking Hannah - if you hadn't noticed that you had been charged twice they would have got away with it

I always check off the statements Dawn as they did the same thing last year too!!

Just got a survey through for a survey site that I joined years ago and gave up on as it was taking forever to get to payment threshold, I started doing their surveys again when I joined in on here back in Feb I think and I've just made it to payout!! :j so hopefully that's £25.65 on its way to me, I looked back on the transaction history and it was December 2008 when I started doing them on there!!!

    £25.65 heading your way!
Congratulations! You'll soon see the rewards you've earned from your Pureprofile. Your redemption of £25.65 has been processed and will be in your specified bank account by 08 September 2015*.

Looks like I have a bit of a wait then!!!

Afternoon all and hello to the new posters :)

Sorry to hear the missus is unwell, Ally, but good luck with your dental appointments, rather you than me!

For some reason I can't open the weekend thread today to catch up but hope you all had a great one.

I was ill yesterday but managed to shampoo the stairs and landing on Saturday so I'm so glad I didn't put it off until yesterday. I bought a scrubbing brush and two bottles of carpet shampoo (I have one left over to do the bedrooms) for £7 and it looks like new. I'm so glad I didn't bother shelling out to hire a machine to do it, they sound a lot of faff (changing the water) and heavy and cumbersome.

Today I remembered to bring in my lunches for the week, a pack of crackers, a slab of cheese and a box of cup-a-soups. I'm going to try for a no-spend week lunch wise. Tonight I have all the ingredients for spag bol and a 500g pack of 'veg for slag bol' (namely chopped tomatoes, carrots and onions) that was reduced and I will add an extra tin of chopped tomatoes so that will bulk it out nicely so I can freeze some.

I've booked the man to come to sand the sitting room floor next weekend, it's going to cost £250  I'm thinking this might be a good trade to push DS into though at some point I guess everyone's floor has to have already been sanded (or it will go out of fashion.)

Although I get paid mid month all my DDs go out today as they were in place for my old pay date. I need to check my balance tonight to see if I can actually afford to get the floor sanded.

I need to email the estate agent to check the optimum time to put my house back on the market to get viewings in the days running up to and over the August Bank Holiday weekend.

Work is still really slow again today as my boss isn't back until tomorrow but I'm sure it's the calm before the storm! I've been filling my time by doing some research for something I plan to work on next year

Have a great day all :)
    Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

    December £361.54, November £322.28, October £288.52, September £374.30, August £223.95, July £71.45, June £251.22, May£119.33, April £236.24, March £106.74, Feb £40.99, Jan £98.54) Total for 2017 - £2,495.10

    I'm absolutely raging.

Our dentist, who is two towns away, muddled our appointment times so neither of us can be seen today. And that's after I poured my still-a-wee-bit-poorly OH into the car, drove miles and miles and we waited in the pouring rain and a howling gale for them to re-open after lunch. (They don't usually close for lunch.) So, we (a) had a wasted journey, (b) now have to return on two separate days for our 'emergency' appointments (c) can't plan our finances easily because we don't yet know if all of our treatment is going to be covered by the NHS.

Sorry, rant over, really upset.

Ally - Oh, that's infuriating. Someone's silly mistake & I'd be mad too. However, it wasn't your error & it was absolutely entirely outside your control, so I think you should have a 'Jumping up & down rage' about it for half an hour (I'm quite volatile, so I often have to allow myself 40 mins), then file it, as bloody annoying & inconvenient as it is, under 'Things I cannot change', have a nice cup of tea & think about something else. I had a big fury about ebay last night, & this was pretty much my advice to myself. It's been infuriating enough. Try not to let it ruin your whole day.

Afternoon Campers (Glad I'm not a camper today - what a chilly, soggy day. Rubbish!)
    Today's money saving stuff:
*Use last of rubber Indian chicken for tonight's meal - spicy pilaff & salad.
*Make tomorrow's packed lunch & work snacks.
*Load washer for overnight laundry on cheap tariff.
*Read meters & uploaded to website. We have more in credit than we will need to pay this quarter's bill, so that will mean useful funds to help with winter bills.
*Big Budget Day today. Reconciled July's budget, which I was pleased to find was only about £8 out. Prepared August's budget. Have reduced grocery budget by £50 which I've paid into savings, also the £70 arrears of Married Couple's Tax Allowance, which was on mr f's payslip this month. Paid one credit card in full, & will be able to clear the other one when the statement arrives, which is good as it had a small sum on it which I reluctantly carried over for a couple of months.
*Did 6 x supermarket feedback draws. 'd love to win those vouchers, but I don't know anyone who ever has.
*Revised my ebay listings. Had a bit of a tantrum last night when I realised that I'd not checked the box for opting out of ebay's global shopping programme. I only sell in the UK & was about to email a buyer from America to tell her this, when we spotted that the item said 'Will ship globally'. Aaaaagh! Have edited 25 items this morning to change back to 'UK only', but unable to change the 4 items which had already received bids.....only one overseas bidder so far. On the plus side, lots of watchers & sold another item overnight.
    *Did a few surveys.
*Washed hair using free samples of shampoo & conditioner.
*Do a few more rows of knitting before we go out later - only 18 more (very long!) rows to go now.
    NOT money saving:
Phoned dentist to book 2 long appointments to get my 2 broken teeth repaired. Couldn't get in until end of Aug, so will be avoiding ryvitas & peanuts. Not remotely money saving as it's a 36 miles of petrol for the round trip, car park fees & the dentistry charges, which I'm expecting to be much higher than I'm used to due to the work needed. On the positive side, he reckons he can save both teeth & at least I'm registered with an NHS dentist, so I shall endeavour not to moan again until it actually comes to the point where I've hand to hand over the plastic!
That's it from me. I have been adding up budgets all morning & need to crack on or won't be ready to go out.
For all those having a not very good Monday.....just stay calm & re-start your week tomorrow. Who says weeks can't start on Tuesdays? Of course they can!
    Cheers,
    f x

Thanks Foxgloves. I'm going for a run in a minute to burn off the negativity.

:grinheart De-cluttered and cleaned all the low kitchen cupboards. Found lots of banana milkshake. OH will be pleased. We have enough of everything in those cupboards. No spend required.

:grinheart Did a survey on the bottom of a Tesco receipt for 25 points.

:grinheart Bob, looks like Tesco vouchers are due out soon as my balance has reset to £0. I think it was yourself asking about the cut-off point?

:grinheart Free 'charity' collection bag through the door will line our bins. (Never even heard of this 'charity'.) Free sample Hyabak eyedrops came through the post.

:grinheart New 0% dire-emergencies-only credit card has been approved but will have to wait for paperwork to arrive to tell me what limit they've given me. Will get a free £5 voucher with it. Old card will be cancelled on it's arrival.

:grinheart De-cluttered and cleaned tupperware cupboard. Tired of opening the cupboard and getting a tupperware avalanche. Odd lids and boxes have gone into the recycling.

:grinheart Trying a bread experiment. Before bed I'm going to make granary bread dough and leave it to rise overnight. Then tomorrow morning I'm hoping to bake it and have it as very fresh rolls for breakfast.

:grinheart Got an email from our energy supplier saying our "April 2016" fixed tariff would be ending at the end of July 2015. After swearing loudly I went online and changed it to a tariff that's fixed for a whole year at the same price.

:grinheart Fed ailing OH a homemade cherry yoghurt ice lolly. It was a hit.
