I'm always careful when I use the self service checkouts at Tesco. They don't take into account any offers, such as 1 for £1.50, 2 for £2, when you scan, only after you select your payment type.

I always watch to make sure the total reduces, before inserting my money/card.

I must say, unless it's a noticeable difference, I probably do miss the odd £50p or £1 here or there.

I have been caught out by this a few times too...

Sometimes when you click onto the payment screen, the offers dont properly calculate and it asks you to pay the full amount. It can be quite expensive if you are taking advantage of a lot of offers at once! Especially on junk food.

Keep an eye on the total when you move to payment, if it doesnt go down then go back a screen and try again until it gives you the discounts.
