ok, it's no big deal . . i bought a PC game called Race Injection.
I have tried installing it, the opening couple of boxes that you click on went ok eg. accept terms and conditions, which language.
It then goes onto a box to install Direct X, goes through the process in about 20 seconds, then when it is complete the box disapears and that it is the end of it. looks like another small message box appears for a minute split second but so fast it is hard to tell.
I have a relatively new Windows 7 computer, so well within capacity to run the game (which is a few years old). Any ideas?

If an icon is created for it right click and select properties and then compatibility and select box to run in win 95 mode. If that doesn't work I'm sure the guys on the techie board could think of something else but it may just be too old for windows 7 if it's quite old.0

Nigel Farage will NOT be happy!
Seriously try right clicking on the icon that starts the installer and choosing run as administrator and comparability mode win 98 then win xp if that doesn't work.
If that gets it to install ok do the same for the newly created game launch icon.0 -

why would the game be old if its using DirectX ?
its still the main API used in PC games (and XBox games).
but then the other main one, OpenGL is even older than DirectX, which has been around since 19910 -

Only introducing a whole load of new bugs and problems, W10 RTM is by no means the finished article. Wait for at least 6 months
