Problem installing a PC game

ok, it's no big deal . . i bought a PC game called Race Injection.
I have tried installing it, the opening couple of boxes that you click on went ok eg. accept terms and conditions, which language.

It then goes onto a box to install Direct X, goes through the process in about 20 seconds, then when it is complete the box disapears and that it is the end of it. looks like another small message box appears for a minute split second but so fast it is hard to tell.

I have a relatively new Windows 7 computer, so well within capacity to run the game (which is a few years old). Any ideas?

Does the program run on Win 7 some games need newer hardware and OS .
Where did you purchase the game??

What CPU, RAM and Graphics processor does your computer use?

Some games need earlier versions of directx

If say it needs directx 9 and you already have 11 installed, you can just install 9 on top of it.

i'm going to have a go at this earlier verison of directX
defiantely a W7 compatible programme, says so on the box.

My PC is well in the range of compatability (like i say game is a few years old, can go on XP through to W7)
i have a 3.9 quad core, 1,000 Gig. hard disc,NVIDIA GeForce GT 730 graphics, and 16Gb memory.

Can't email manufacture as their website is not responding, maybe they went bust

Look in the windows application or system event log. It will have written an event as to what has gone wrong.

ok, i'm going to take a look at the event log
is it possible my Graphics card would not be DirectX 9 compatible? Maybe because Dx9 is quite old?

DirectX is backwards compatible. If the gpu works with DX10/11 then it will work fine with 9.

you could try running dxdiag, and see if it flags up any problems.

while the graphics card is pretty poor, it shouldn't really have any problems with it.

what actually is the problem with the game ?

Tyr install as administrator or turn the POS user access control (UAC) off completely.

ok, i will look at these later.
cycrow the specific problem is . .you now how you have to go through a couple of "boxes" when installing. e.g terms and condition box, you tick "yes" takes you to the next box . . select language . . i then select English . .takes you to the "install direct X" box . . .i then starts to install with the green bar going upto about 2/3rds of the way to the finish and the box just disapears and that is the end of it.
