Morning all,

I recently updated my Xperia Z and since the update it has suffered from random shut offs; sometimes during boot up, sometimes a few seconds or minutes then shut off - also the rear top part of the phone gets very hot too in a short time :(

However, if you keep the charger plugged in, it will stay powered on :(

I have seen threads with this same problem, but no solution as of yet. I have also contacted Sony who state they are unaware of the problem and suggested a a pc companion repair - i have done this and a full factory reset - still the same issue. Sony have suggested i forward the phone to them for a chargeable repair (i think the update has knackered it some how!)

Anyone know of this issue?

Did you update it over the air or via the PC?
My android lolipop update has been fine, if anything the battery life has improved and my handset is over 2 years old.

Downloaded the update via wifi and left to install.

    I guess the update/issues must be a coincidence :(

    (sealed battery unit).

I will look at EBay and still on for spares or repair - was a brilliant phone up until this point :(
