Strange behaviour which so far only happens on wifi internet. The mouse will freeze for no apparent reason in any browser after some time surfing and Ctrl, Alt, Delete won't bring up Task manager to allow me to shut down offender. It's a Logitech, wired in usb mouse and will do it in any usb port. The Event Viewer says the following which is Double-Dutch to me:

Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is corrected.

Not a lot to go on there, ATAPI is a driver reference, but an event log is usually a huge thing, near impossible to read on isolation, and near impossible to build up an accurate picture without tools.
Instead, try troubleshooting with fresh batteries, different mouse, etc as well. Next things to try are does it happen with WiFi Internet but no activity, or you only notice it if you're surfing, etc. Does it ever happen if you're wired instead? How about if you switch WiFi off on the device (there may be a physical switch).
From experience, if you can't narrow it down easily, try a flatten and rebuild (backup key files, format hard drive, start afresh) which will take you a few hours, but you can easily spend that chasing small irregular errors through event viewer and debugging. If it persists, it's hardware errors, if its gone out was either bitrot or something interfering.0 -
Try this fixit for the event handling problem:

Any chance you could post the exact make and model please. Not just something like BMW 5 series please as there are a lot of different models under the 5 with different parts.Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0 -
The second error ID33 seems to be a conflict between RealPlayer and Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package.
This could cause a browser freeze if the content was trying to open media with Realplayer.
You could uninstall RealPlayer if you don't use it or update it to the latest version or use Flashplayer.
There are different versions of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package (available versions are: 2003, 2005, 2008, & 2010). You can have one or more installed at the same time.
You may need a different version for Realplayer. If you upate and have Visual C++ 2010 then that's probably OK.

Thanks guys. I've been without internet for a while here in the Philippines. I'll try your suggestions.
BTW it's an HP Compaq Presario CQ 71 laptop running Vista, 4 - 5 years old, only new part was a replacement hd.“Learn from the mistakes of others. You can never live long enough to make them all yourself.”
