Hi All,
I'm using Windows 7; 64 bit; IE11 on a laptop which is 2+ years old and Win-Zip Driver Updater pop-ups say I need 20+ driver updates. Had no problem with that until I read the small print that the new drivers would need replacing in 12 months' time. I cannot afford this recurring expense but am not really able to download each driver myself; never done it before.
PC is a bit slow now so I need to fix those drivers soon but don't want to cause more problems than I solve. Looking at their names conveys nothing to me; I don't know what they do. What's the easiest, cheapest, fastest way out, please?

the safest fastest cheapest way out is to uninstall said piece of software, it (along with others that you may have allowed onto the machine) is probably responsible for your machines lack of zip, nothing to do with drivers, which are always free

thx buddy, but what about those 20+ drivers that they say need updating?0 -
driver updates? , if its an intel board use intel driver update http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect
but for simplicity , try slimdrivers https://www.slimwareutilities.com/slimdrivers.php
ps , many programs (paid for) lie about your driver status in order to get money from you
edit: , how can a driver only last for 12 mths?0 -
There are loads of dodgy programs that claim to update your drivers. Some sort-of work, many are malware, others just want you to pay for something you can do free.
Just go to the manufacturer's website and download and install the drivers you need.0 -
how about https://www.slimwareutilities.com/slimdrivers.php - the safe route
Personally I use a tor??nt and download their package, but they do not offer torrent on their page https://drp.su/
In google if you type 'torr??t drp' a few pages should appear. about one package of about 10gig is released monthly and it should have a few hundred subscribers0 -
that's handy a 10 gig iso?
PS: I mentioned slimdrivers in my post above0 -
I'd go for Slimdrivers too, tried several over the years, Slimdrivers is the most consistent performer......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -
I am just putting that 10g download on a pendrive , lets see if it works!0

my drp is v15.7 and is 10.8Gig
the one I have not mentioned are sam drivers v15.6.10 and that is 11gig - you probably know where to get them.
I mount them with virtual clone drive, rather than going the bootable usb route.
Sam divers had (have not tried this version) a very good current driver backup mechanism.
One thing missing from them both are hp dl340 g4 raid card drivers. Also on Dell 620 some of the motherboard Intel drivers did not work and bsod my machine.
I have tried slim once, but both other packages offered me newer drivers0 -
looking for drivers for a hp dl340 g4 raid card , is slightly different than the average punter trying to get his lan to work after reloading windows .
for some stupid reason I am using win32 diskimager (its on my machine for writing openelec isos) , taking its time0
