I have now got a official come back.
I just got on to the phone to Samsung UK. They have told me that the product is not officially HD Ready. And Also they are advertising the product as HDTV Ready, different to HD Ready. they stated because it has no HDMI conections the sound is analougue, the components are also0 -

If it has a DVI connection then all you need is a DVI-HDMI adaptor , readily available from Currys , Richer Sounds , eBay etc. DVI only carries picture whereas HDMI carries sound AND picture . All you need then to do is get a set of phono leads as well . As you say the sound would then be transmitted in analogue rather than digital . But this has NO effect whatsoever on the picture quality , it would still be in High-Definition and wouldnt affect whether it would say "HD Ready" or not on it .0 -

This could be the answer . Older TVs , esp LCD or Plasma might be capable of accepting a 720p signal , but not 1080i . I would hazard a guess that this TV falls into that category .0 -
