    Boostspeed is $24.95, personally I would ditch it.

    you can install avg, avg antispyware, and SuperAntiSpyware at the same time. avg antispyware is only resident for 30 days, so there is no harm in leaving it on your PC and doing manual scans. avg antivirus is completely different, don't uninstall it unless you have another AV in place.
    Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:

    Thanks for your patience there Nicolai, its gone now.

    Did anybody have any thoughts on the AVG or the AusLogics questions?

    There seems to be a bit of a mix up here. AVG anti virus and Superantispyware do two different things. AVG antispyware would be the nearest equivalent so I'm not sure whether you're talking about AVG anti virus or AVG antispyware (both of which still have free versions). AVG antivirus is and anti virus program and so is a separate issue altogether. I used to use it but I now use NOD32. As for the antispyware I have both AVG antispyware and Superantispyware installed.

    Thanks to everybody for their replies.

    It looks as though I have confused people because of my referral to antivirus in the first post.

    What I meant to say was that when I first did the malware/spyware removal ealier this year it was because I had a known problem.
    I thought I would do it again now to make sure nothing had sneaked into my computer without me knowing. I didn't think I would need to download the programs again as I had done it earlier.
    Between then and now the programs in the thread have changed and instead of AVG it has got SuperantiSpyware rather than AVG, hence my question as to whether I had to remove AVG before installing Superantispyware.
    I seemed to remember reading somewhere that if you had two programs of the same type they could tie each other up in knots. (Probably a case of a little knowledge being a dangerous thing)

    My anti virus is Norton which I think runs until the end of the year.

    If I have gone down the wrong route here please could somebody let me know.

    Once again thanks to everybody, I relally do appreciate your time, effort and patience.

    As albertross says: *they can co-exist.* In fact it is a good idea to run both - separately - as one will find nasties that the other one misses.

    It is having two anti-virus programs that can cause conflick, not anti-malware programs :)

    Yep, Exactly.

    On my pc:

    Antivirus = NOD32

    Firewall = Comodo

    Antimalware = Spybot S&D, Adaware (only just uninstalled, not sure if will reinstall), Superantispyware, Windows Bitdefender, A-Squared, AVG Antispyware
