If it is HP don't bother upgrading to Windows 10... Seems there is a problem affecting laptops and windows 10 and HP are not planning to release a fix for it according to customer support!

I have a Compaq, HP own them and was upgraded when I did normal Microsoft updates. I didn't actually want to upgrade yet. Everything is working perfectly(fingers crossed), now you have me worried.

Why would a company now want to fix a problem?

The drivers for certain HP Envy and Pavilion Laptops (I have a Pavilion) are not yet working with Windows 10. The HP forums are full of people experiencing problems after upgrading to Windows 10. I did the upgrade the day it was released, and afterwards my laptop would not shut down properly neither would it go into sleep mode. The same issues was reported by lots of others. There was another issue also about flickering screens.

No update would fix the problem. HP blamed Microsoft, and Microsoft blamed HP. 6 days after I switched I went back to Windows 8.1.

I tried everything to fix the problem, but nothing worked!

Last I heard was HP telling people (me included) they do not recommend upgrading till all the bugs have been fixed.

This thread http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-Systems-and-Software/Windows-10-Laptop-won-t-go-into-sleep-mode/td-p/5171069 is the one on HP with the most people complaining.
