3mobile unauthorised bills

Last September I started a new 3 mobile contract because of their facility of using contract minutes abroad. After I'd agreed the mobile details the sales guy( very pleasant) offered me mobile broadband -Huawei - 1 GB monthly for £5 per month. It seemed good value so I purchased. I'm only an email/ newspaper user - I go abroad 4 times a year so it was going to be useful . Each time I reached my monthly allowance the screen on my iPad flashed up a message and that was that for the month. Sometimes I used my wifi just to use up the allowance even though the hotel I was staying in had free wifi. Anyhooo , I have now discovered that 3 mobile allowed me to exceed my 1GB to the tune of £20 per month before that message flashed up. ( I had been credit checked to that amount) They have charged me almost £120 since inception . I have phoned them but they are resolute that the charges were incurred. I didn't check bills-
1 I didn't know there was a bill - £5 per month was what I signed for. As I told them
" if I bought a pair of size 7 shoes I wouldn't check each month that they were still size 7. At no time was I told that I could spend more than £5 . The manager of 3 mobile agreed that I hadn't been told at point of sale but I should have read the terms and conditions!
3 mobile have offered me £50 ex gratia but I feel they have fraudulently taken this money.
Advice please.

You used the data its that simple you allowed it yourself .
Up to you to keep an eye on your spending not 3.
In my view and in 3s place i would not offer £50 and expect you to pay your bills .
  • Got a full refund. Great service from 3. They agreed with me. :T:T:T

Left 3 after they started adding £14 of charges for premium tests I had never requested or subscribed to each month.
The response from the call centre was if you dont like it **** off in a roundabout way.
They refused outright to stop the bogus texts or block them,
So I did **** off after 4 years.
I do Contracts, all day every day.

Even though you have a contract that states you'll be charged if you go over?

Three (I think) offer unlimited data on some plans, so if you're going to use it to the max, you may be best off with one of these.
