Paypal not releasing funds after 180 day lock is passed... (Now sorted!)

I hope this is the right area to post.
To cut a very long story down, on January 9th I got an email out of the blue stating that my PayPal account had been locked for 180 days, and that I could not dispute this.
After being given the following reasons by different staff for the lock:
That time limit was up on 8th July, and no email came that my funds were available. So I called them and they told me I needed to confirm who I am. I uploaded my Driver’s Licence, Bank Statement & Bank Card to them, I'll have an answer within 48hrs they tell me. 3 Days pass, nothing.
I called again and they claim all I sent was my Bank Statement, and it wasn't enough ID. So I asked why they didn’t contact me to upload more ID, they didn't give me a reason.
So I uploaded the ID again and got the guy on the phone to confirm it was received. It also shows as received on my account.
It is now 14 days after the 180 day limit they told me I should get access to my funds (£230) and my account is still locked. I plan on calling them tonight, but I have no idea what to do now. I've stayed calm all year and now I just want my cash & to close my account. Please advise!

Okay so I just got off the phone with them, the guy was very apologetic over the phone, I know it isn't his fault, he just works there to pay his bills.
He escalated it to a manager and I will have a response in 24 hours. I will beleive it when I hear it. That's the 3rd time they have told me that.0 -
Anyone able to help at all? Are there any better numbers I can call?0

I would keep trying the main number, if they ask you to wait 24 hours again stand firm, insist on having your call escalated.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Just off the phone again. This guy seemed to do what he could, he explained normally when the ID is provided, they can usually free up the funds but for some reason he cannot do this, and a person I spoke to last week has escalated it to the STRT department? Apparently it has one member of staff assigned to the case and no one else can work on it, so this rep sent him an email asking why it was taking so long and it was now a matter of urgency.0

I know it isn't very helpful but I would set your expectations very low and not expect to get a penny of it back, then if you do, see it as a bonus. Paypal are the scum of the universe. You might want to try the forums at paypalsucks.com0

PayPal is covered by the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS). Write to PayPal telling them that if they do not release your funds to you, you wish to take the case to the FOS. Send the letter by Signed For post so you have proof of sending it and of them receiving it. If after 6 weeks, you don't have your money, complain to FOS. Google Financial Ombudsman Service for details of their website and how to refer your complaint to FOS using the standard FOS form.0

This is what you need to do, though perhaps send a letter via normal post with proof of posting. If all they wanted were your details, why didn't they let you upload them six months ago and get your money?
Because they have gained six months interest on your money and everyone else they have done this to.0 -
i had same problem , i still get emails from ebay with my monthly invoice on my old email account my account have been -£19.97 for over 2 years now when it was suspended for multiple accounts which wasnt true although our household had 3 accounts at the time"If I know I'm going crazy, I must not be insane"0

So just got off the phone again after hearing nothing. Again, I'm told by the operator "there's nothing I can do, I can only escalate it" - So I asked for an address that I can send a pre-legal notification to, and they are only giving me an address in Luxembourg. Is there a UK address?0
