This just seems to get stranger!

I have now worked out that if I do a search for files etc. using DNS as the search word (takes about 45 minutes) then close the search results and do a restart, she can access the internet:confused: .

If you then do another restart without doing the search, it plays up again!

Does this give anyone any ideas as to what the problem could be?

sorry I put a typo in the command is ipconfig/all it doesnt require a space but we got the info anyway.

searching for files called dns does nothing for you so don't bother with that

ok so she uses a usb modem for her connection, they are not 100% reliable, as they have a few things that can go wrong they use software and that isnt brillaint sometimes buggy so grab the latest drivers/software for the modem and install them. see how that goes.

Another thing that I go back to when I used a usb modem was when it locked up just disconnect it from the USB port and plug it back in, resets the thing and it normally comes back up.

next time it doesnt work repeate the ipconfig/all >tmp1.txt and paste the resutls in here hopfully it will give us a clue to whats wrong.
  • why is there no DHCP?
