Whose right?

Can anyone read my conversation with VERY on there Facebook site and tell me whose right, morally and legally, it started out as this from me to them :-
Hi, I think I'm being past around and getting nowhere! To put it simply, I bought a laptop from you on 5th June, it has now become faulty, I phoned the manufacturers Acer, although my purchase was with you! They said it needed to be sent off for repairs, I think a laptop that becomes faulty after a very few number of weeks, paid full price to you, should not be excepted to become a faulty, then be a repaired laptop, I think and so does the consumer act 1979, that a full refund should be given, through your integrity not someone I didn't purchase it from,

    What is this 'consumer act' you speak of?

    If you are going to quote legal stuff to sellers, it is important to get it right, otherwise there is the risk that your 'complaint' won't be taken seriously.

    There is no act that requires a full refund after almost 2 months. You really need to research and carefully plan what you are writing as you have used many incorrect words which make your complaint difficult to read and makes you look like you don't know what you are talking about.

    Have you actually told Very about laptop? They can choose to repair, refund or replace. You do not get to choose.

    Apart from the rule of "merchandable quality" there's not much you can do.

    It sounds as if it could be a defect in manufacture. Legally they aonly have to rectify the fault. In some cases with other types of goods it might be cheaper to just replace but this is not a right it is a business decision by the supplier. In the case of laptops they'd be more likely to repair.

    Is it under warranty? Did you damage it by dropping etc.?

    Have you contacted Very directly instead of faffing around on Facebook?

    I don't think you're legally or morally entitled to an automatic refund.

    Tip: ask someone to read through what you write before sending it.

    It will also depend on what the fault is, if it's software issues then there is very little chance of it being covered by any warranty or law

    After acceptance (which is considered to be at 3-4 weeks for a laptop by most computer retailer returns policies), the law says you're entitled to a repair, replacement or (partial) refund - whichever is cheaper for the retailer essentially.

    In 99% of cases with 99% of retailers you will be offered a repair in your current situation.

    Anything else would really be an act of goodwill.

    Also, dependent on the fault, they may not do anything at all, but you would need to elaborate for me to make this conclusion!

    The Sale of Goods Act 1979 makes reference to ‘the seller’, this is the shop, the retailer, or the individual you bought it from, and is who you made the contract with. It is not the manufacturer, and don’t let the shop tell you otherwise! If there is an obvious fault with the item at any time within the first 6 months and it has not been caused by wear and tear or misuse, your first port of call must be the shop you bought it from. They have the responsibility to put the matter right, and should not evade this responsibility by referring you to the manufacturer in the context of a guarantee or warranty. Even after this 6 month period, if the item breaks down prematurely , you should always go back to the shop or retailer in the first instance.
    Your statutory rights under the Sale of Goods Act take precedence over and above any warranty or guarantee you may have with either the retailer or manufacturer. It is misleading for a shop to tell you they can do nothing simply because their warranty or guarantee has run out, because you will still have your statutory rights.

    Sorry for doing, writing, explaining everything, wrong. the one thing I am sure of is that I came here for a bit of advice, do you just wait to jump on someone who may not be as intelligent as most of you are, I did ask so I have to take your opinions but I think that you have shown that you are not trying to help, just trying to be little people, I know not to ask again and please no replies because i'm not listening.
