Best Shop for Maternity Clothes

Hello Everyone

Can i get some recommendations for shops selling maternity clothes. My wife is going mad at the lack of options and choices.

The very few shops she can find locally (Mattalan, Primark, HM, Next, New Look)
- don't have a maternity range
- have a maternity range but assume only woman below size 14 get pregnant
- assume you are over 50 or have no interest in looking good. Everything seems ridiculously frumpy or beige.

Sam is really looking for nice tops in size 18/20 and trousers size 20 that arent skinny fit on the legs, which they all seem to be

Your advice will buy a loving husband some brownie points
Thank you

I'm a similar size. I found next online to be the best for leggings. George at asda online for basic t shirts and jeans. For nicer longer length tops/light dresses i bought from debenhams online. It seems very few companies carry their maternity lines in store, so it is more of an online job.

My best buy were maternity jeans from Mothercare, worn almost all the time.

George at asda are good and comfy fit. mamas and papas you have to buy at least 2 sizes bigger than you are made that mistake when I bought a bundle on ebay. Bundles on ebay can be good value.
Actually I remember the trousers from peacocks being nice and comfy yet not somewhere i would normally shop.

Most of the shops you mention have on-line ordering. Mothercare and Jo Jo maman bebe have nice stuff but some of it is a bit pricey.

Have you tried H+M, Asda, Tesco ? Next has really great maternity workwear in sizes bigger than 14.

John Lewis is good, they stock some quality brands like Seraphine which are good for office wear. Good service and reliable delivery service in my experience, as well as no fuss returns.

Hotmilk is great for comfortable and smart looking underwear including nursing bhs. Check their website.

You can order basics like tights and in fashion tops online from H&M, very reasonably priced.

It depends what you need. I found Jojo Maman Bebe did really good quality clothes and some really smart work blouses, but too expensive for a whole wardrobe of stuff that won't get much wear. Mothercare did some nice sparkly tops at Christmas which I liked. My favourite jeans were Mamas and Papas but I don't know if that's for everyone and every size. Red Herring, New Look and ASOS were good for stuff that was a bit younger.

Unfortunately most high street stores no longer stock their maternity ranges in store (because why would a pregnant woman with a new shape to dress need to try anything on before buying it?! :p) but there are plenty of options online.

I like Jojo Maman Bebe but it is quite expensive, they do have good sales though so keep checking the stores and website for bargains. ASOS have a good range of maternity clothes too, I bought some of my favourite dresses from there. :)

Second hand bundles on ebay are much better, as you get a range of clothes in a certain size that will only have been worn for a few months at most.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Really frustrating isn't it? I hated buying mat clothes online because I had no idea which sizes to buy to fit me.

Luckily my loak Next still had an in-store section when I was pregnant with my first. With my second I ordered some of M&S maternity range to be delivered to store so I could try it on and return it there and then if needed (and it was needed - I'd only managed to guess my size right on one pair of trousers).

I found a pair of black mat trousers + a non-maternity top in a tunic style, or billow-y style was much more attractive than the beige horrors your OH is discovering.
