I buy "one up from the cheapest" on a "per 100 sheets" basis. I don't concern myself most of the time about which shop is cheapest because I shop rarely and when I need/remember to stock up I need it then, not in 1-2 months when I am next in "the right shop".
I was in Mr T yesterday, so this time I've got their 9 rolls for £2 at about 12p/100 sheets.
Maybe I could have bought cheaper at Lidl, but I'd only know that if I went in and checked..... and as I was in Mr T I took a chance. When you're in one shop (that you're only in 6x a year) you can't go checking another shop "in case".
Somebody should start a website doing all the calculations and keeping on top of the current prices at the most common 30 shops in the UK for this stuff.... I've not the time to do that.0 -

The comparison should be on cost per s**t (CPS)
This was tried but due to complaints from the government, it didn't last long.

Also some toliet rolls have thicker sheets so may have less or more sheets and also some have smaller toliet roll holes (cardboard inner part) so its difficult to compare. As said trial and error is probably best gauge0

The hands-on approach is not to be sniffed at.0 -
