  • Counts me in it. The supersaver delivery has become not only slower bot also less reliable. I brought a item from amzn but failed to receive the package and finally got the item after a half month...
Men talk of killing time, while time quietly kills them. :p

Most companies state a cut-off time for evenings. I can't see one for Amazon, but I don't think you should expect next day if you order in the evening.

Poster posted on 22 Jul saying that they ordered 'yesterday' i.e. Tuesday 21st. The item was delivered on Friday 24th...

Even if the cut-off was missed on the Tuesday order date, 'next day' delivery would have been Thursday.

I ordered my electric toothbrush from Tesco yesterday and I collected it today from my local store. They despatched it there within 24 hours. That's what I call good service.

You cannot compare a delivery to a store against a delivery to your house.
The tesco item will just have got added to the large delivery that was going to the store on the Tesco distribution lorry anyway. A personal delivery has to be seperately picked / packaged and sent out via post office/ external delivery company

Given that Amazon are trying to 'encourage' as many customers as they can to move to Prime, it's no surprise that they're slowing down Super Saver deliveries - it's just another of their 'encouraging' techniques designed to push people into Prime.

As a relatively happy Prime customer of many years, it's not something I'd give up. But that takes into account a number of factors:

1 Other members of the family can also use it.

2 We live in a rural area and £79 pa for Prime is a small price to pay to avoid numerous trips into the nearest town for odd bits and pieces needed in a hurry.

3 Prime often allows you to pick up a real bargain when there's a price drop but only a small number of items available.

Actually, not quite - Tesco Direct orders are delivered to the store by one of the major carriers, and not by their own lorries, and it still has to be picked and packed individually.
