Surely you don't expect it quick if you use supersaver delivery.
It's cheaper because you are allowing them to put it at the back of the queue especially when they are busy and therefore result will vary.
I don't think you can draw a conclusion from 1 item delivered.

Its not just one item though. I am always ordering things from them and its been getting slower and slower. In the past Amazon were very quick to deliver and it was free delivery as well. They aren't always the cheapest either. I have ordered from other companies and have received the item within a few days. I ordered the catflap over a week ago and it still hasn't been despatched. I would expect better than that.

I ordered my electric toothbrush from Tesco yesterday and I collected it today from my local store. They despatched it there within 24 hours. That's what I call good service.

Indeed, I always use supersaver delivery on the basis that it should arrive by the estimated date. If it happens to come earlier that's just an added bonus.

My estimated date has come and almost gone and I still have the opportunity to cancel the order. I might just do that and order it from an online pet store. Its not free delivery but the item is cheaper on there. I have just been thinking every day that the tesco item would be despatched.

    Is Tesco involved here?

Most companies state a cut-off time for evenings. I can't see one for Amazon, but I don't think you should expect next day if you order in the evening.

Deliveries can never, ever be guaranteed by ANY company.
For example what if the delivery vehicle catches fire and your parcel goes up in smoke?
There is never ever ever a guarantee - only a basis for expectations, compensation etc.

It depends on the item for prime as when it is delivered (especially if ordered in evening or weekend)

But i have always seen a date on there, for example a CD now tells me to order in 31 minutes for tomorrow delivery, yet a toy i was looking at for the kids tells me to order in that time for Sunday delivery, and another item is telling me that for Monday, so could vary on where it is in the warehouse/supply chain.

But yes whenever i order something of an evening i am always dubious about it being the next day. So far though, after having prime for a couple years now, it has come through.

Though that said the other week i received someone elses order in a box addressed to me so have had to send that back, and the replacement fire tv stick is not due to be dispatched for a few days due to stock issues (presumably a number of people had the same idea as me and ordered on the prime discount day!)

I am always skeptical on a delivery being "next day" on prime, let alone on super saver delivery.

I, too, have noticed that Amazon's SuperSaver delivery has been getting slower over the last couple of years. It's not the actual delivery, it's the time taken to pick and despatch. I simply presumed it is an attempt to persuade us to take out Prime to get faster delivery .... doesn't work for me, it's rare that I'm in that much of a hurry ;)

Agree that Supersaver delivery is getting slower.

Also think that the choice of products isn't as good, and there are more non-Amazon sellers - some of these have been excellent, but others charge rip-off P&P, don't describe the product well enough or just don't deliver at all.

I shop around much more now - Amazon isn't always the best and their minimum order value keeps increasing, meaning I either have to wait ages to have enough items (especially with so many different sellers) or I end up buying singly elsewhere.

Personally I have never understood why people want things like Cat flaps or CDs to be delivered next day. I am quite happy to wait a few days. Even more baffled by people who queue up at midnight to get a copy of book

I always do next day delivery to ensure I will be in when the parcel arrives. I live in a flat and whilst the Amazon guys will occasionally get someone else to let them in and post through my door, most of the time they just won't deliver. Most of my friends who have Prime have it because they work and use the next day delivery option for that reason.

I always do super saver delivery but get it delivered to a works address so there is always someone there to sign for it.

I have had no problem with the delivery time, also I've had things turn up on a Sunday, which is great because there's someone in.

I don't like the fact that they've moved the goalposts and you have to spend £20 to qualify for supersaver delivery, which means I've had to wait until I've wanted to order a few things, in order to make up the value.
