Google for local mobile car key cutting companies, they'll come to the station and do it.

Contacted a few, all more expensive than Dealer, surprised.....

Check with the cleaners in the office, an I trust you checked the car isn't actually sat there unlocked with the keys in the ignition.

Nothing handed in at work. Haha, that thought did cross my mind, as it is something I would do, but checked and the car is all locked up. :p

I think you are getting off lightly. Mercedes charge £255 just for a key! It could have been a lot worse if the dealer couldn't order up the correct key for your car. Then you would have been looking at replacing locks, immobiliser, and possibly ecu; a cost approaching £1,000 would not surprise me.

Unfortunately all this security is the cost we are all paying for crime even though not necesarily being a direct victim. We are all indirectly victims due to having to have overly complicated immobiliser and key designs that cost £££'s. If the deterrents to a criminal life were more robust, and a more moral society promoted, then maybe we would not need expensive immobilisers on our cars.

Yeah, it isnt the end of the world, I was expecting the replacement to cost a lot more to be honest. I phoned some local auto locksmiths, and they were quoting me over £200..... I thought they would have been cheaper than the dealer.

Agreed with your comment about deterrents to criminal life!! :)

I hope it isn't obvious which station you are parked at. If someone dishonest finds the keys it may no longer be there.
It's a 13yo Picasso. This may not be the worst outcome possible.

You've got off really lightly. Same thing happened to my uncle - his is a Toyota and it would be nearly £2k to get it sorted because of the programming, immobiliser and alarm issues. They decided it wasn't worth it as the car was only worth about £3k.

Oof, £2kt! Thats mental..... Did he ask around local auto locksmiths at the time? or was that just the dealer telling him this?
