    Are you sure that you were not charged for this once already by the letting agent? You don't want to double-pay.

    The agent may be able to release your details in connection with certain types of legal action, even without permission. But given that you were not a party to the case (or so it would appear) then this may well not apply. I would do a bit more research but not ignore the prospect of a data protection complaint.

    For some reason it even sounds like the invoicing company lost their case against the agents. You might want to find out why that was; it may be the invoices were never valid in the first place; maybe the work was never even done, or done by them.
