Don't worry my boring passive portfolio and predetermined monthly investments with auto rebalancing are chugging away.
It's just once you do that there's nothing left to talk about as by definition you're not interested in what the world might be doing, hence you end up in here ranting at the moon and howling at the starsLeft is never right but I always am.0 -

I'm all for having unconventional views and thinking outside the box, but there has to be some rationality behind it.
For me, the HPC crowd are obsessives with a wish-fulfilment fixation that is not bounded in logic or even remotely conventional economics. They could be dangerous except for the fact that their main concern is just house prices.0 -

I have always considered that starting a thread on the MSE forum about another forum is totally effing weird.'In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments - there are Consequences.'0 -

I once went for a meet up with a bunch of people who had been banned from HPC and started a splinter movement. Can't remember what it was called but it was a similar name.
Nice bunch actually. Sir Humphrey who used to post here was there and we chatted for quite a while until his missus got a little abusive (I think she lived in a Guardianista bubble and wasn't used to investment bankers with a rather different take on things. She liked wine in 250ml glasses a lot which I suspect didn't help as the afternoon turned to night).
Betty Page used to post here too and was there. She was very nice, one of those people that really occupy a room. She dressed a bit like a member of the Communards.
The bloke that set up the splinter group was there but I'm not sure if I remember his real name or his username. He was lovely and obviously bright, as was Sir H actually.0 -
