EE still charging me after leaving

Switched to BT on 4th June 2015 but EE are still charging me. Have contacted them twice and said would definately cancel but still not heard anything from them. Only paying £2.50 on last bill but next month my 12 month advance rental runs out so likely they will charge the full £25.70.
Should I just cancel the direct debit before the next payment due?
