I think the above is quite clear you flew Air France on a code share with Delta. If you flew Delta to Paris there would be no claim but you didn't you flew Air France so I believe you are entitled to compensation. If It were me I would read Vaubans guide and send in a Notice Before action. Or contact Bott & Co and see what they say.

Yeah - but I wrote Vauban's Guide, and I honestly don't think there is a claim. But if the OP tells us the date of the flight, we could consult one of the online databases to verify for sure.

There were 5 AF marketed flights operating on that date
    AF23, AF17, AF7, AF9 and AF3643
The first 4 flights were operated by Air France
AF3643 was DL184 which was operated by Delta
(the 4 AF flights also have Delta flight numbers - you can normally tell a codeshare flight number as it is usually 4 digit numbers rather than 2 or 3)

If you enter the details into Bott's online Claim Calculator it says:

"Sorry, it looks like you can't claim. We're sorry but our data shows that this is not a flight we can offer a no-win no-fee service on."

This is because, I am sure, Delta should have operated this flight and the mechanism by which AF took it over (if they did) was not through a conventional code share. I bet a pie and a pint, if AF did operate the flight, it was effectively wet leased (albeit through their strategic partnership agreement).

Also the flight operated from T2, which is one of the Delta terminals. AF use T1.
