ccj and applying for a mortgage

Myself and my part are currently saving for a deposit to buy are first home, recently I did a credit report for us both and it came up that my partner had a ccj from 2012 we have no paid it (511 pound ( and are awaiting for it to show as satisfied, My question is will we struggle to get a mortgage ? I find it all so so confusing! we've planning on saving 10k and are looking for a house around 130,000 are earning are 33k between us, thankyou for you help!!!:money:

    The CCJ won't help, but I think having less than 10% deposit will severely limit your chances.

    A recent CCJ will definitely put you out of the market for all the best rates. However, an independent mortgage broker may be able to find you a specific lender that will deal with the CCJ/adverse credit history.

    You will also likely need 20% and above deposit as well, as they will want more security as your credit history will be poor.

    If you are planning on saving for a few years, you would have 3 or so years to save at least £26k and then you would be in a much better position all around. If it's a priority now, best speak to a mortgage broker and see what they say.
