Item delivered and signed for at wrong address!

You say you have proof it was delivered to another address but then go on to say about knocking on every door in your street.
Does that mean that the courier hasn't noted down it was delivered elsewhere and instead that the "proof" you have is someone else's signature? If so, it explains why they're doing an investigation before resending/refunding - otherwise imagine the implications of people signing someone else's name on delivery and then claiming they have "proof" it wasn't delivered to them. You keep using that word. Hi there,
After hitting a brick wall on this situation I thought I'd get some advice on here. I ordered some items online from Wilko. Items were due to be delivered to my home address on Friday 17th July. The items did not arrive at my address.
Online tracking information stated it had been delivered and signed for by someone not known to me at the wrong address.
I contacted both the seller (Wilko) and the courier company (DX). But I'm not happy that I have to wait for them to investigate until they can re send the items or issue a refund!
Surely they have enough evidence to show that someone else has effectively stolen my delivery (different name, different address) and I'm being penalised by Wilko holding onto my money and I'm out of pocket and without the goods!
Shouldn't the seller issue the refund immediately and claim on their insurance? They've told me the investigation can take up to 48 hrs from Monday depending on when they can contact the depot and the driver. Then the refund can take a further 3-5 working days. Or if I want the items again (I'm not sure I trust them to be delivered to me!) then it's another 3-5 days for the order to be processed.
I'm upset my delivery has been stolen and I'm being made to wait, I just need some advice on whether this is correct procedure and can I go to the address I suspect my delivery is to try and retrieve?
Help please!
First of all, there is no evidence to prove your goods have been stolen, they have merely been delivered to the wrong address. Secondly, sadly this is a hazard when home shopping, mistakes occur and it takes time to investigate what has happened. Surely you don't expect any retailer to accept the word of anyone, purely on the face of it. You would surely expect them to investigate things properly, wouldn't you?0 -
And I'm considering escalating the fact that my delivery has been stolen.
Why does the seller require 14 days to refund me? And also it's that from the time I ordered the items (14th July) or from the time the courier gave them to a complete stranger (17th July 13:30pm) ?
If you are intending visiting this person, I'd suggest you take some to time to calm down. This sort of attitude might give you an unexpected result.0 -
I'm assuming that after 3 days they may be intending to keep the delivery. Which means they have accepted goods in someone else's name and it's a criminal offence.
But yes it has occurred to me to try and knock on every door in my road, also hoping that they will be honest at the door when clearly they haven't been honest thus far. I don't have much faith in my door to door enquiries.
The goods were delivered on Friday, today is Sunday, that is only two days. Wouldn't it have better to have waited until Monday to assume that someone who is a charity worker, has stolen your goods?0 -
As far as if I have seen the box? Well I've looked online at the tracking information which has a photo of the label and the signature of the person who accepted the delivery. I haven't seen the actual box as that would mean I've seen my delivery which is missing hence me posting on here.
So, how do you know what address it has been delivered to?0 -

Finally, just before 9pm that night my neighbour knocked, she'd found my parcel in her side porch. I'd had no card to say it was there (as I say I was in anyway) and were it not for my neighbours honesty I'd have never have known where my parcel was.
A complaint to Wilko was utterly useless.
Never shopped with them since.
What did you want them to do?0 -

Well, lets see..
7 days for a 3 day order, no card, not actually delivered to my address and an online signature that read 'driver'. An apology would have been marvellous.
Unless of course you'd be happy paying for that service? I know I wasn't and thats why I wont be using them again.0 -

So, your neighbour had it for three days before realising that you hadn’t been to pick it up?
When you called them to say what had happened, did they just ignore you and put the phone down?
Or did you start your call to them the same way you responded to me, when I asked you a polite and simple question?0 -

No, I didn't say my neighbour had it for any length of time, my neighbour brought it round at 8pm on the evening of the delivery after finding it chucked to the back of a side porch. It took 7 working days to receive on a 3 day delivery.
I didn't call, I sent a perfectly polite email which was basically replied with 'you got your item what is your problem'.
Tone doesn't convey well in the written form.0
