Does a phone upgrade show as a new record on my credit file?

Did you originally sign up with them via a comparison site? It seems those sites effectively give the insurance companies unfettered access to credit data about you. I think you can stop this, but it's not exactly transparent how you do so.

They did my identity check using my debit card.
