wish list for positive August changes on ebay

There are a number of threads on the powerseller boards where sellers are being told by ebay CS that the August announcements will for once be good for sellers. There don't appear to be any leaks or even hints at what it might be, but more than one seller has been told that for once sellers will welcome changes. Obviously I wouldn't hold your breath, but what would be your wish for a change, something sensible, they aren't going to suddenly going to stop charging fees or anything like that. The last time we were told about positive changes I 'wished' for the ability to print 2nd class postage via ebay, and it happened- so wish away.

I haven't narrowed my wish list down to one thing yet, but so far I am thinking along the lines of:

1) buyers having to open INR cases for losses- but with those INR cases not counting as a defect if they are dealt with via refund or proof of delivery by seller. This would still comply with UK law but would show ebay which buyers are becoming serial claimers.

2) ditto something similar with SNAD cases

3) Lowering of FVFs for shop holders

I'm sure I can think of more

Just thought of something I really really wish for- realistic estimated delivery times. Something bought today 2nd class with 1 working day dispatch is never guaranteed to get there tomorrow or Tuesday regardless of what ebay tells the buyer.

I agree no defect for lost items would be nice!

When I have only one item left from a multi-variation listing I would like to be able to send it to auction!

I would wish for some sales! eBay is dead for me but steady sales of the same items at the same price elsewhere!

Yes sales would be nice, quiet for me since March but expecting them to pick up from August same as last year.
  • A search engine that works... I'm sure that ebay will have been picked off/up by google within 3 months.. so that hopefully will be a given..
  • I'd love it if sellers were provided with an address that's complete and properly capitalised - I spend far too long re-typing addresses that are entirely in lower case and/or with no gaps in the postcode, or donning my deerstalker to find missing numbers, street names, or towns!

Oh yes, it's fine when I use ebay postage as it capitalises the post code properly , but on occasions when ebay postage is down and I have to manually print labels it is a real pain.

Not a solution but a quick workaround: rather than re-typing the address, select it as is and paste into a Google search. Google will automatically reformat it in proper case, add commas and return it as the first entry which is for Google maps. Copy and paste from there and move on to the next annoyingly formatted address.

If you just have the first line of the address and the postcode, the same search will get you the full postal address.

Come on people, it's not difficult: lose means to be unable to find, loose means not being fixed in place. So if you have a hole in your pocket you might lose your loose change.

Include in a buyers feedback for a calender year , just how many times they have been refunded for lost or damaged items and give as a seller option, the right to exclude buyers who have claimed non receipt more than three times within that year

unless they agree to pay extra postage to cover a signed for post
As Martin says - please be nice - there is no such thing as a stupid question ! ;)

To stop 'stealing' part of the postage which buyers pay to get their item thus leaving the seller to put it back in themselves. Still can't get my head around why they think it's okay to do that. I know some of you will say that Paypal also do that so do we actually lose it twice?
