    @robatwork is the leyland paint anygood for painting on to fresh plaster as per the comments on the screwfix website or would you still put a seal coat on first?

    I would go with Dulux but not from a DIY shop find a trade store if you can for much better prices. I tend to buy from Brewers and can't fault them, lots of helpful tips too.

    you should always use a mist coat , ignore what the instructions say (i.e `no need to water down but do 10% if you have to)

    Hello - I can't answer as I have only painted on prepared surfaces but I see you have had some good answers here. The general rule is never put decent paint as the first coat on fresh plaster - primer or a mist coat.
