Dial a phone - I need help or explosives.

Hi super people.
I got my phone, a Samsung P400, about nine months ago on a 18 month vodaphone contract from dial-a-phone. In the past three months, it's been randomly crashing and deleting photos and occasionally turning itself off with increasing frequency.
As internet-person, I went to thier website and filled in a customer service form that promised a reply in 48 hours. 48 hours later I had no reply.
A month passed. I had no reply.
I called the customer service line and listened to a machine list every option I didn't need for a while then I braved it's labyrinthian menus. It hung up on me, twice.
Eventually, I thought I got somewhere and was put on hold. I was greeted a two minute loop of some Gabrielle song (I have nothing against her, but it was used in a similair fashion that the Barney loop was to break Iraqi prisoners) with an automated message telling me that I'm important, that massive demand for thier excellent services meant I was in a queue and that I was being prioritised. It also suggested I try the useful website.
Fifteen minutes later I got a voice of what I believe was a human, because machines can't yet muster such a disinterested tone.
I told him my problem and that I'd like a replacement or an upgrade (at that point I was ready to demand a helicopter and a small Hawaiian island). He interrupted me to ask for my phone's number, which I gave him. He went off to do something.
Five minutes passed.
He came back, and said he'd ring me back on that phone and hung up before I could say anything.
That was two weeks ago.
Does anyone know how to get any sort of interested responce from these people? Do I have to start catapulting sheep carcasses at thier offices? Do they even have offices? Can I cancel my contract without an exorcist?
Please help!

Dont bother with Dialaphone , ring Vodafone on 191 from your mobile. They will replace the phone usually within 3 days if its faulty, i always phone the network if there's a problem and i've had no problems with replacements fromh Vodafone.
Dont think im putting a jinx on you but with Vodafone if your phone is replaced 3 times due to faults then it entitles you to a new one - worth remembering.0 -
Or try Samsung probably needs some software upgrade and Dialaphone will only tell you to contact them anyway. Maybe put a letter of complaint in writing detailing your problem and send it regsitered! Doubt they would give an upgrade or even a replacement would have offered to repair at best.2p off is still 2p off!0

If your phone is still within warranty you can go into a mobile phone shop and ask about repair. If its under warranty they will fix it for free (if it can be fixed), or they may replace it for free (not sure on this one). We had to do this once and we found an independent mobile phone shop and they were very helpful.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

Ok, I phoned the 191 number and they told me to phone Dial-a-Phone so I phoned Dial-a-Phone and the menu hung up on me.
I phoned them a second time and got through to a human after a mere 15 minutes on hold - they sent me a form I need and told me to phone vodaphone about upgrades.
I phoned vodaphone again and they said that I would have been able to get an upgrade nowish under the past ownership (the one I bought the phone under) but now I have to wait until October.
Arg, I hate phone companies.
Thanks for your help, super people.0 -

Brilliant post, its just how I feel.0 -
From my experience Dial-A-Phone's customer services is abysmal.
I ordered a phone off them in and waited in for it. When it didnt turn up I spent 10 minutes trying to get through only to be told that I had failed the credit check (which was a lie as confirmed by T Mobile) I was about to ask them why they hadnt bothered contacting me but they hung up too soonWycombe Till I Die0
