I got a call from solicitor around mid-morning and went to pick the keys up from the EA. Sometimes keys are left with EAs, sometimes with solicitors and sometimes the previous owner will actually meet you at the house to hand them over and give you a tour of the boiler, locks, etc. and other useful info. Congratulations and enjoy your new home! First things to do are take meter readings and possibly change the locks, as well as just taking time to walk round and enjoy it. Some lenders (e.g. Nationwide) send out a free box of goodies now so look out for that too.
