What have I to expect about completing tomorrow? It's my first house and I'm nervous. Will I definitely get the keys tomorrow?
Thanks.
Rik.
Here's the house for those interested.

Nice looking property.
The chances of you not getting the keys are so small I really wouldn't worry. As soon as you complete the house is yours and you are entitled to the keys. After exchange almost every house completes smoothly
You only hear the horror stories on here as no one bothers to post when all goes according to plan
Relax and enjoy it!0 -
You'll get a phone call when you can pick up the keys from the estate agents.
When you get in your new house it's a good idea to take the metre readings and to report them to the utility companies.
Have fun moving tomorrowCurrently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

Get the champagne on ice - congratulations!
I think I had to wait until about 1pm before I got my keys, which gave time for the vendor to move out. I picked them up from the vendor's EA office.0 -
Thanks for the responses!
The metres are prepaid with British Gas so I'll be on to them ASAP!
I'm looking forward to moving as there's been a lot of positive news from the area (new train station and cinema) which can only improve quality of life and property values.
As for the exchange, unfortunately I have to work til 4:30 tomorrow night. 0 -
I don't have any advice to offer but just wanted to say congratulations!
And thanks for providing the link to satisfy our curiosity

You'll most likely get a call from your solicitor between 11am and 2pm saying "you can pick up the keys". Then the estate agent will probably phone you to say the same.
Take meter readings ..... then realise it's not a good idea to post your address on t'Internet as you discover a Facebook House Warming Party Notice has gone viral.... courtesy of a mischievous stranger.0 -

Congratulations!!
We're completing on my late mother's house today as well.
Here's hoping your moving in goes smoothly and may you have many happy years in your new home!!A cunning plan, Baldrick? Whatever it was, it's got to be better than pretending to be mad; after all, who'd notice another mad person around here?.......Edmund Blackadder.0
