YNAB is finally up to date! I knew it was the right thing to shut down the SB usage as I'm feeling more organised already!

My accounts are a sorry sight with the jewellery panic buy! :o but I'm ok with that. My CC has 2 payments (1 month) left, and if my selling spree continues then it should be a fairly easy 2 payments! It's a 4 week pay month in July for me so in 5 weeks that CC will be cleared!

Once the cc is paid up then I potentially lose a DD coming out of my halifax reward account. I've noticed that I can set up a DD to pay into my Tesco online saver, so I will probably do that, although I'm also considering using the credit card for petrol so that there's a monthly DD coming out on that too which doesn't require me having that cc in my purse. That then saves me having to use Paypal to transfer money across, but is there if needed.

This month I'm going to try using my M&S current account for my personal purchases of groceries and social events. I didn't do too well with having that cash in my purse as I felt I needed to carry too much around with me, and then it was conveniently sitting there during my "whim" moments! The benefit was that it was much more painful using the cash rather than a card. So I'll transfer the funds across to the current account and withdraw the budget cash out each week to keep me organised. YNAB will be easier to keep up to date too.

Using my TSB cashback card for my commute helped to fulfill my 5% cashback reward on that account, so I'll keep with that. I haven't been tempted to spend it on anything but my commute!

I need to close my Santander 123 cashback credit card now as I don't want to use it anymore, but it has a monthly fee attached. I'll do that on Tuesday after they've taken the fnal payment from what I spent last month.

Now it's time to get to the Post Office to send my last items for this week. I'm finding that people pay really quickly, which is great. More money for the CC. Although I have a sneaky suspicion I'm going to get rained on!

    Have a great afternoon.

Thank you Jodles. I do love an enabler! But I also think you have a good point! It's just that I feel like I treat myself a lot harder than I work sometimes!!! :o

I'm feeling more focussed again now I can see the end in sight for the last cc.

Having the 14 day plans, and also the boost of things selling on eBay is really motivating. Thank you for your lovely encouragement.

I spent the evening fixing my media laptop, which is finally working again!!! What a relief! It's handy working in IT at times because they set me up with a USB to boot from! I now need to install all applications I had on there again, so need to find licence key details on a couple of bits. The problem was created by Microsoft forcing an upgrade that didn't go through properly!!! So I'll upgrade to Windows 10 on that laptop this weekend to try and stop that happening again in the near future!

I've been paid YAY! So have shuffled some money around. I've moved my spending money to my M&S current account. I also opened an everyday saver account with M&S as a waiting area for money I spend on that cc to save me spending it twice.

Someone contacted me about a large item I have on eBay, so I'm hoping he'll come and buy that from me this weekend. Need to send him a message back about that.

Happy Thursday all. Have a great day.

Time is flying by! Much too fast really, but I guess that's what happens when things are busy.

I spent a lot of the weekend decorating, moving boxes around and uploading details on eBay. I'm glad I didn't have anything up for sale last week as I was exhausted. I have 20 things for sale now, one of them is a really good racing bike, so I'm hoping that will bring some pennies in.

One room is almost finished with the decorating! I texture painted the ceiling and then collapsed in an exhausted heap. At first I was feeling a bit resentful at all this work I have to do, then realised that the problem was my attitude and not the work, so I put some good music on and just stopped thinking about what needed doing other than the particular job I was on.

I got into work yesterday and called into a meeting very early. So, now I am officially coming out of semi retirement. It was a lovely chat with my boss who didn't try to make me feel he was doing anything "special" for me. He actually asked if giving me what I had asked for was insulting to me in any way! So it could be as early as August that I'll be back to full time hours! This means that I will be getting a nice boost to my monthly income and I need to make sure I put that to good use and that those extra pennies get given a good job!

I had to refuse a viewing this weekend. I know it could have meant a sale, but honestly, my house needs a facelift so I feel confident that I've taken the right decision and that if I give myself these next 2 weekends to push through as much as possible then the viewings will be a bit more worthwhile.

I've also requested the last week in July off so that I can make big steps forward in decluttering. Due to the bad weather on Saturday I didn't do a boot sale on Sunday, and the weather was actually ok! I've found SO much stuff to go that it's hard finding a temporary home to keep it until I do get to a boot sale. The rest of the week is forecast to be dry, so hopefully Sunday will bring on more pennies and clear more out!

I have the man coming on Monday to sort my doors out! I had a real result there as they didn't originally deliver all doors I ordered. I went to the store on Wednesday to get a replacement with the refund they gave me, but couldn't figure out the particular doors I already had, so I decided to leave it and sort it this week. On Friday morning my doorbell went and there was my last door! I mentioned the refund and they said to keep it for the inconvenience!! Yay!

So, lots to celebrate and be happy about! cancan.gif

Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone! Particularly as we have this warmer dry weather!

YNAB up to date again, for now. The beginning of the month is always the most involved! I've also made things a little complicated for myself this month, so need to get that organised. I'm using my M&S cc so that I get to build up their vouchers, and I opened a savings account as a holding account for the money I've put on the CC, but now I need to figure out what I'll use that card for and make sure the budget is there waiting! Fortunately I have a free o/d facility on there so it doesn't cost me anything to slip up!

When I start getting my new salary I want to have things in place to open up more regular savers for their better interest rates. At the moment I don't have enough DD's coming out of my M&S account, so I'll fix that later today! I'm considering putting enough aside for 6 months worth of essential bills to sit in my higher interest 123 account before starting to lock money away in savings, just so that I can feel really comfortable about the future. Having low bills and my pot of gold afforded me the luxury of telling HR that I won't jump when they click their fingers, so knowing I'm good for a year, no matter what, can only be a good thing?

It's all feeling pretty good Rosa, although a tiny bit disconcerting that I'll soon lose my lovely long weekends!

eBay is still treating me well. I sold a bike at the weekend for much more than I expected. It's a fantastic bike and they're getting excellent value, but you never know how many people are going to bid. He's collecting that Saturday morning and driving 2 hours to get to me as I've stated a cash on collection only.

I also sold a jacket 2 weeks ago which had a bidding fury right at the end. The person who won it had just 1 feedback, which made me nervous. Their address was also a little obscure on the site, but it was the correct door number and postcode so I figured I should send it. A few days ago I got an email asking where the item was!!! Everyone else I'd sent items to that day had received theirs the week before!!!!

So I emailed them the proof of receipt, and the great news is the item arrived just a couple of hours after that!!! Call me sceptical but does that seem more than a coincidence to you too???? I'm so pleased I get the proof of receipts every time I send something. All turned out well.

Still no new contract at work! I did see the HR guy looking for my Director yesterday, so maybe it's on its way!

The radio has become a bit more interesting! One of my new trainees sent me a message on Monday inviting me out for a drink! You know when you just know a message wasn't intended for you? :D I replied asking if he'd meant to send that to me, and got the "oh my God, no I didn't, I'm really sorry, I'm not trying to stalk you" etc. After spending a while reassuring him that all was fine, he then revealed an attraction!!! He's gorgeous by the way, but far too young for me! It's really boosted me though, and I'm very flattered! The problem is, we've become really flirty and we spend a lot of time alone together! I have to confess I'm obviously enjoying the ego boost!!!

I've finally finished decorating the bedroom. It's looking really nice and clean. Through packing things away to paint that room I have found an overwhelming amount of things to be removed from my house. I need a really good sort through at some point. I'm hoping to get it started at the weekend. There are more clothes to go as well as lots of shoes, and other larger nice items that just don't work for me anymore. Things like jewellery boxes and other personal type items. Selling those could potentially help me pay towards moving costs when that time arrives.

I do have another confession, and that's that the last lot of sales, other than the bike, was dire, and I ended up spending the small amount I'd earned on little things I've had my eye on for a while! Not big things and all within a theme, but not where I was putting my focus. I know how I'll use these though based on a recent little idea I've had, so I'm not too fussed about it!

So that's me all caught up I think. I'm wondering now if I need to state what amount I want my Pot Of Gold to be so I'll know how far along the journey I am...

    Have a great Thursday!

    Well done on the bike.:T

I'm thinking the same. I have a Pashley and they hold their value. It's big and bulky and I could do with a Brompton instead when I am debt free. I'm not sure I use it enough to justify keeping it.

Well done on the painted bedroom. It must feel nice :)

Flirting is one of life's perks, like good chocolate. Enjoy!
    Go you :T

Hurrah for Jackpot Man Junior and grrrr to silly 3bay people. I don't usually get anything other than proof of posting as most of what I've sold hasn't gone for big amounts, but you've reminded me it might be worth it for anything more expensive. I've got a dress on at present that I started low because it has a small mend by the zip, but it's got 5 watchers so may go for more. I'll add tracking if it does.

There's amazing amounts of stuff I don't need in this house too! But tbh I don't know how you can bear to give up long weekends once you've had them!
