Thank you Jodles. I had a lovely evening and getting the quality time with just the 2 of us was really appreciated. They're all a great bunch, but I have a better connection with this friend.0

Last night was lovely. I had a free coffee on my app, but he had weakened and used his the night before, so I decided to treat him anyway which was still a very cheap meet up.
I've paid extra on my credit card bill today, so I'm looking forward to watching that total drop down. All of my free money will also go on that card to get rid of it as fast as I can.
Not much going on today. Another busy day at work, which isn't looking too safe again!!! This up in the air limbo world isn't doing my OCD much good!!!!
Radio tomorrow and I've not prepared anything yet, so I should really start on that tonight to make sure I don't have to panic! Swagbuck watching is going on as I type!
I need to plan my weekend as my "me time" isn't getting much focus. I'm out on Saturday with a friend who's had some sad news. Sunday and Monday are currently free for me and my house, so I need to make a plan of action to get back on track there too.
Have a great Thursday! We're on the final stretch to the weekend!

Good to see you back in action MT. I love your action plan for the house. I might copy that so there is someone out there doing the same thing. It might give me courage...Well done on overpaying on the credit card. You seem to be able to get out there and have fun whilst still attacking your goals. That's something I aspire to as well. Enjoy the weekend, it's so nearly here! DIA xxIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Hello DIA. I think we're very similar in worrying about having people round to do work on our homes, but I guess we need to take a deep breath and go for it! MTxx0

Wow, almost a week since I posted! Not a great deal to report though as I've been very finance conscious and only spending within budget. I have booked 2 weeks off work at the beginning of March to do a major blitz indoors and, hopefully, get the electric issues sorted too.
I've moved most of my money and bills over to one account, as that one pays the highest interest and I have the organisation of YNAB keeping everything tidy and in budget while helping to earn me a nice interest sum.
The radio went well. I left my trainee in the live studio on his own while I sat in the dead studio and listened in. It's all glass so we could see each other and he knew I was there if he needed me, but he's not good with distractions so the less he has going on the better the show is for him. He's still texting me about it now as he was so excited at how it went. He can't make it in this Friday so I have 4 hours on air by myself. I love training, but I'm really looking forward to just worrying about myself this week.
Work is still up in the air. The Partners are all meeting next week regarding discussions about our department. No decisions will be made at that meeting, but it will start the ball rolling on making some decisions. Hopefully we'll know something by mid March.
Swagbucks are totting up nicely, as are my shop and scan totals. I'm still managing to let the SB apps play in the background most days.
That's it from me. Another hump day is here already! I hope everyone is having a fantastic week! MTxx0 -
Hey MT, I love your diary, your radio job sounds so interesting, I reckon you must be a great trainer! Not fun not knowing whats happening, hopefully it will all be sorted quickly and wont be uprooting.

Hey MT, I love that you remind us when we are over 'the hump':)
You sound like an intuitive trainer. I've done a little training/facilitating/lecturing myself and I can see your strengths
You are right re tradesmen. As the Yanks say, I'm just going to have to 'suck it up' My priorities are gutter clearing, plumber to fix upstairs pipe and an electrician to repair the lights! What about you?
Hope your day went well

Hello DIA,
I'm a bit repetitive with the hump day reminder but it's generally because I know I'm almost through with my working week!Thank you for your comments regarding my training as I've never actually been taught how to do it and just generally fall into it, but I guess it must be seen as a strength - either that or it's something no one else wants to do!!!
Regarding the tradesmen, my main area is electrics. I have a shower that needs replacing and 3 rooms that I use lamps in as the lights aren't working. That's fine as I don't like ceiling lights anyway, but if I'm potentially looking at getting house viewings they're going to need to turn the lights on!0 -
It's been an "exciting" weekend! On Friday as I was putting the last preparations to my radio show there was an explosion! One of my plugs had blown. Luckily there was no real damage and the plug was far enough from me that I didn't get a shock etc, plus it immediately tripped out anyway, but it really scared me. So now I'm forced to get an electrician in as soon as possible. I've got enough in my home maintenance budget to get this done and an electrician I've found is a friend of a friend, and I have met him previously, so feel as comfortable as I can hope for.
I was on my own at the radio as my trainee was out of town, and I really enjoyed it. I had a lovely chat with one of the hospital visitors as I was wandering around a ward to collect requests. His wife had been taken down to surgery and the poor man was beside himself, so we stood and chatted for a little while. I remember that feeling when my Dad was taken down to surgery so really felt for him. The patients I saw were all very amenable to a visit from me too, which doesn't happen every week. It's understandable as they're not feeling great, or they've not been happy with some health news they've been given, but it's lovely when everyone seems to be quite happy to see me.
After the show I did my normal supermarket shop, as it's so quiet when I go after my radio show. I saw that Tesco have Easter Eggs for £1.50 and 4 for the price of 2, so I bought 8 !!!! Then I found a lovely Mother's Day card and bought some bits of shopping. At the till I remembered I had some vouchers on me that will expire soon so I ended up paying just 90p for £16.90 worth of shopping! I love it when that happens.
I went out for the day on Saturday with my Mum as we've not done much together in the last couple of weeks, and that was lovely. We didn't do much as neither of us wanted to go shopping or buy much so we had a coffee in a beautiful garden centre we have near us, and then we headed off for a cheap lunch, with vouchers.
The weather has been rubbish today, so I've stayed in and caught up with housework! Not a very exciting update, but nice to end the weekend with almost as much money as I started it with!
I hope everyone has had a productive or fun weekend and we're all ready for a fresh week! Thanks to the leap year it's an extra 3 days I have to wait to be paid this month!!! It's my birthday on Friday, so...... thanks Leap Year!!!!At least it means I can't go out and spend lots next weekend using my birthday as an excuse!
