When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free!

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending!

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important! :money:

    Good morning DFW-Devotees,

    I was awoken at 5am by a crow barking like a puppy. Thanks for that! Today is going to be a challenge.

    Nillionaire Month Two:

    :grinheart I'm taking the car to be MOT'd and if she needs an overnight stay in hospital I dread MOTs. :( I got a half price MOT at National Tyres but G-d know how much it's going to cost if it's a failure.
    The MOT was booked online at National Tyres and AutoCare. Quoted DV273. Got it half price, £27.42. AND if you go to www.national.co.uk and click on MOT and sign up for an MOT reminder email they send you a whole load of coupons for money off tyres, suspension, batteries, brakes etc through the post. You don't have to book an MOT to get these coupons and they're valid for months. I think the car is fine, but I thought that two years ago and the car was condemned! I can't use the nearest garage as they're not reliable.

    :grinheart Will have a browse around the shops and maybe a trip to the library while the car is being examined.

    :grinheart Pick up new bus timetable from bus office in town instead of printing it myself.

    :grinheart
    I'll get the bus or train home, probably the train as it's cheaper, although it takes longer and I have to change trains. I'm so cross with this bus company. We have just one in our area and you need either a free bus pass or a mortgage to be able to afford to use it. They've just bought, yet more, swanky buses and so, no doubt, they'll get even dearer. I'd sooner use the trains even though the station is a mile away and the bus stop if across the road from our house.

    :grinheart Try to win Red Bull (Link).

    :grinheart Tried to win cous cous but was told to come back at 10am today. (Link)

    :grinheart Try to find time to read everyone else's posts. Sorry if I've missed your good/bad news.

    :grinheart Will do free Butterfly Count tomorrow for entertainment. (Link) Thanks Ziggy for reminding me.

    :grinheart I'm trying this at the moment. Home made insect bite soother! Soak some eggshells in apple cider vinegar for 48 hours. As the shells break down the calcium carbonate in them reacts with the vinegar to make calcium acetate. This is an astringent are are witch hazel or calamine lotion. Daub the resulting liquid on bites. Keeps in the fridge for a month.

    :grinheart Check payslip in readiness for payday tomorrow. Oooo, wee tax refund as a result of claiming Marriage Allowance.

    Good luck with your Devotions, Devotees.

    Fix An i-Scam For Free:

    Was just discussing a rather crafty scam with some techie acquaintances. This type of scam is rife in the US nad is now over here too. If your iPhone freezes when you're using the Safari App and you get a message from "iPhone Support" on the screen saying that you need to call a number and pay a fee to un-freeze your phone this is, of course, a scam. They'll also try to tell you that someone has accessed your phone remotely and has taken your personal data from it. You have a malicious code in your phone. So how do un-freeze your gadget? And clear the message for free in less than 5 minutes?

    Press Home to leave Safari.
    Go to settings.
    Choose Airplane Mode.
    Go to Settings
    Find Safari Settings
    Clear your internet browsing history and cookies.
    Re-open Safari.
    The error message should have gone.
    Go to settings.
    Take your phone out of Airplane Mode.

    :wave: Morning guys. Wow thread's busy this morning! Thanks for starting us off ally :D

    Weather looking overcast here to, but the forecast says it's going to be nice....

    Had a lovely surprise yesterday was looking for a handbag to use and discovered a cheque for £36 from when I returned my tax disk :j was due to expire next month. So deposited it at the bank while meeting friend for coffee :j

    Small things for today:

    * [STRIKE]dgd off to cm with packed lunch[/STRIKE]
    * [STRIKE]oh took lo pasta from last night[/STRIKE]
    * grate and freeze cheese as I finally have space in the freezer. Hurrah!
    * all meals from stores Have made a lovely filling for enchilladas to use up some tortillas that desperately needed using. Used 3 very small chicken breasts, 1/6th box of ys mushrooms, 1/3 ys fresh corridander bought ages ago and frozen, tinned toms, a dash of chilli oil and a pinch of cayenne pepper and a handfull of red lentils. Tastes delish and I worked it out to be about 70p a portion :T will have will tomatoes, a dolop of natural yogurt and maybe a few baby salad leaves off of HM plant ;)
    * [STRIKE]lunch for me will continue to be a "use it up" unusual concoction![/STRIKE]
    * [STRIKE]purchase ferry crossing ticket as going to visit dear old friend in the Netherlands with another friend (we've all know each other since I was about 19) will use the £36 to offset the cost so I reckon my cost for going with be about £50 + any spending money :T. Will put it on my cashback cc and pay off in full ;)[/STRIKE]
    * [STRIKE]check banking [/STRIKE]
    * check job sites
    * contact agency about p/t post
    * contact Police about my mother's property/ashes
    * [STRIKE]flylady[/STRIKE]
    * [STRIKE]do some studying for course I am taking at the moment[/STRIKE]
    * [STRIKE]gardening[/STRIKE]
    * take up trousers

    Wow seems like I have a lot to do today!

    ally thanks for the tip re virus' on phone. I had one last week and it was a nightmare! But luckily oh is a lot more techey than me :A Also thanks for the heads up re the free photo prints. I received them yesterday and have put 4 up in frames in the lounge of dgd & oh x

    Have a lovely day everyone x
