If everyone told these scum call centre jockeys where to go; a) they would eventually go out of business, b) that would reduce the number of nuisance daily calls by some margin and c) insurance companies would do what they are supposed to do and have less excuse for hiking premiums.0

Unfortunately, people are greedy and gullible.0

these companies make money from accidents, but sometimes insurance companies force you to use them.
My 4X4 got hit about 7 years ago, the car needed to be repaired and an estimate was 3 weeks, mine & other parties insurance company were going to provide me with a poxy corsa as a temp replacement and i need to pay £100 excess when collecting the corsa myself and claim it back-i contested and said i need a 4x4 as i tow a lot(horses/motocross) for my family- hence why i own a 4x4-they didnt budge.
I got a call from and went with one of these companies and took up there offer, a brand new Pajero LWB was dropped off the next day and my car taken away. I ended up with this Pajero for 4 weeks while my car was repaired at a cost of over £170 per day hire charge. They also chucked in a load on compo, didnt want me to pay the excess and claim it back.
Now i imagine the other parties insurance got raped-did i care-NO. I dont drive an insure a top end 4x4 to be given a bubble car as a replacement when i get hit by another driver.
These companies have there uses....Plan: [STRIKE]Finish off paying the remainder of my debts[/STRIKE].
[STRIKE]Save up for that rainy day[/STRIKE].
Start enjoying a stress debt free life.....now enjoying. thanks to all on MSE0 -
I had a call yesterday, I asked him for full details of the accident he was calling about he had no idea but he said he could get me £3000, I asked what for he didn't know... I asked him politely to go away and remove my work mobile phone number from their hit list. same company also rang the house phone and my personal mobile within a few mins of the call I answered. The accident the were calling about was a low speed scuff where the car next to ne decided to take my front end off on a slip road at about 10mph. I wasn't injured and my car needed superficial attention all sorted last year when it happened.0

it may not be surprising for me as these claim companies know how to get money from insurance companies. Sometime on genuine grounds and sometime with baseless grounds.Hi there - I had an accident that was not my fault and went through the correct procedure to get the car repaired on the other drivers insurance. This was 5 months ago.
I have had a call from a company called Elite Legal claiming they can source a payment of £2000 for the inconvenience caused?
They also claim that money is set aside for this sort of thing, despite the fact I told them that we suffered no injuries.
Is this true? The company was asking for all the details etc...
Thanks.0 -
No, you are getting the same phone calls that we all get, nothing to do with having been in an accident or not.I still occasionally get texts about my motorbike crash in 2008.
They say 'we are calling about the accident' hoping there has actually been one.... It's obvious from what you are saying that people fall for their trick.0 -

True. I don't even own a car but get called about 'my accident'.

So why (in my case) do they reference motorbike in their communications?
But yes ... I've also had the generic ones too.
And no ... I haven't fallen for their trick, in spite of your snide inference.

I bet the call was from "Hannah"0
