my friends in head office say different..but ho hum
(which is why within hours/days/weeks of it being released we are inundated with till bulletins/inserts/overstickers to bring the catalogue up to date and correct the numerous mistakes they inevitably contain)
they need to be the warehouses for delivery into stores by two weeks before launch. infact on some occasions preiously we have had pallets of cats in store at least two weeks before launch...know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -
I understand what youa re all saying aboout no codes at Argos, so why when you order is there a box at the very top that says:
If you have a promotion voucher code to use on this order please enter it here and click
Every time I get to that bit I start to get all excited, search the web, then remember!“All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt.” Charles M Schulz0 -
that one i cant answer for sure veruccasalt!
possibly because the website is made using a standard template? that would be my semi-educated guess. i dont know whether they may have used codes in the past, then stopped...and not bothered to update the website. either way, they do do them anymoreknow thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -
talking about the argos home delivery price i was always under the impression that it was one price for all delivery items...but a few times now i have been charged double delivery when i have ordered a washing machine with other items, a sofa with other items and a bed with other items....the large items were charged a seperate delivery charge so ended up paying 9.90 each time....i have queried it each time but have always been told that the larger items cannot be delivered at th same time hence the extra delivery price added.....
also all the large items that use to be direct from manufacurers now have the 4.95 delivery charge added to the bill even though we dont have a choice on it being delivered which i think is naughty..at least with everything else we have a choice if we want to pay delivery charge or not....0 -
was that via an online/over the phone order?
i know if you order through store, even if you have 2-3 different deliveries, so long as it all goes through as one transaction you will be charged once for delivery. there is very little which increase the cost of delivery - opting for a saturday delivery/ next working day delivery (only available on some items) being the main onesknow thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -

it was always in store and standard delivery...i never do any other delivery and the store is 2 mins from my house so its easier for me to do it in there...0 -

Ordered a sideboard from Argos last week, which promptly arrived on Monday, and spent all day building the flat pack unit...
Alas! As I was near completion, with zero errors / mistakes, I made the biggest mistake of all... :wall:
The 2 doors required drilling to add the handles on, and I too meticulous care to make sure that I drilled the holes in the right places... and i did! If I wanted 2 left doors!!! Yep! You guessed it, my handle on the right hand side door is now on upside down... does look a bit trendy (or so I tried to convince my girlfriend!)
Concerned this was going to cost me a fortune to fix, I contacted Argos Direct who advised me they have a "spares" cupboard (which I'm sure is more than a cupboard!), and they're sending me a replacement door free of charge! :T _party_
Morale of the story! Don't try to botch fix it... "Argos It!"0
