NEVER USE THE QUICKPAY KIOSKS. ASIDE FROM THE FACT THAT THEY NEVER WORK HALF THE TIME, THEY ARE NOT VERY EFFECTIVE AT HIGHLIGHTING THE CURRENT OFFERS, OR LINKED ITEMS THAT MAY BE OF INTEREST TO YOU. SPEAK TO A REAL PERSON EVERY TIME.
Amen!!! Thank God someone agrees!

I work for argos...there is no such thing as argos codes!!!
all items are previous catalogue or previous "NIC" lines.
Let me explain NIC lines first...you may notice items such as HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL for the Playstation is not in the catalogue..REASON..it comes out near Christmas time and the current catalogue comes out in summer. Therefore, it is not included in the catalogue as it is only available for about 1 month before the next catalogue is available (January 19th 2008)...so these types of items are advertised in the papers, flyers etc.!!
ok now to locate old stock...
The best times to get the bargins are right at the beginning of a catalogue launch! Most good items should be out on the shop floor...depending on how good the CSS (customer sales supervisor) of the store is.
My favorite way of checking for the bargins is the argos website. Go to each section of the website and then jus click clearance in that section. So easy to do and is often overlooked by the majority of people. Act now also as alot of the deals are fading away already.
Best ways to get the clerance items summerasied.....
1. website
2. in-store in the clerance section of the shop floor
3. act a manager if they have any "R.O." bins ...for example...they can check the system quickly and they will always been heavily reduced. (do ask a manager though as many sales advisors wont know what your talking about lol)
hope this helps0 -

Hi I am with Southern Electric for my gas and electric and they do a deal with Argos called www.energyplusargos.co.uk. You get a card which accumulates points from your gas and electric which you can spend in store.
Also now, they are letting anyone with a card buy up to £100 worth of Argos vouchers for £90.
It's a good deal, if you're not on Southern Electric though, I'm sure you know someone who is.

I've queried this with one of their reps when i switched over to them and he said the Argos deal is'nt the cheapest tariff for most people. So realy you end up paying for the Argo points.0 -
