New on this forum but need to express my concern about the lack of movement on LPG prices.
During the price surge of raw materials where gas ,petrol and electric prices soared Shell quickly sent a letter to me, siting these reasons to justify a price increase. Aviva took over and there has been absolutely nothing of a decrease since the price of these 'raw' materials have decreased!!! Not only that they recently increased the price of tank rental. Where is Ofwat when they are active in intervening with the main utility suppliers [may be not enough]?
Is there a way this can be voiced at all?

I'm afraid this has been going on for years, I tried numerous time and got pretty much nowhere.
Also summer is the worst time to even post about this stuff because nobody is using any really.
Best time to bring this up is probably around Xmas when everyone gets there first big bill from the winter!!!!0 -
See what I mean, a whole day and not 1 other reply :-)0

Once you are into a two year contract, there is little opportunity to negotiate lower prices from suppliers (it can sometimes be done with understanding suppliers), best bet is to negotiate before signing. There is plenty of advice in the sticky thread 'Bulk LPG' https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1003291
as well as indication of current reasonable prices.
There is no independent ombudsman for LPG, there has been an investigation by the OFT which enforced some changes,

but basically you are on your own.
SK240 is correct about timing, early winter is when the Bulk LPG thread wakes up!0 -
Write to your MP. See if you can get some neighbours who are on LPG to do the same.
Another option is to get we quotes from alternative suppliers and present thoose to your current supplier stating that if they do not lower the price you will switch as soon as you can.0
