Hannah how old is ds2? dgd is just 2 and shows no signs of being ready to come out of her cot
Hiya, he's 7 next month!!! He is on a normal single bed frame that we got a few years ago off gumtree but we used the mattress off the cotbed (bigger then a normal cot size, if you see what I mean.) We filled the bottom of the frame with a folded over spare duvet and sat all his soft toys on it.
DS1 was 3 when he came out of the cotbed (as needed to put ds2 in it!) DS2 was happy in the cot part til about 3 1/2!

    Morning Campers,
Good luck to everyone with an interview or job-hunting at the moment.
Cloud has burned off & sun is now coming out, so typing this in the conservatory with the doors flung open enjoying the birdsong.
Today's money saving bits & bobs:
*Managed to get about half a wash cycle done on cheap tariff. Last load of the week, blowing dry outside on the line for free.
*Pruned back the buddleja bush in the front garden as realised it's overhanging the path badly & it would be difficult to get a wheelchair or pushchair through. The purple blooms I had to cut off were fabulous so have filled 2 vases - free flowers for the house.
*Watered veggies. Would have fed them too but cannot shift the top off the new tomato food we've just bought so will have to get mr f onto it later - he's so strong he'll probably end up crushing the bottle & I'll be left with about 2 drips.
*Did a bit of veggie garden maintenance - got to protect that food - side-shooted & tied in tomatoes & started weeding the leek bed. Will have to finish when soil is drier or am wearing cruddy clothes.
*Paid 2 x 50p pieces into my sealed pot.
*Did a very few surveys, not many about today.
*Unpacked box of completely random gifts from my Mum (they visited yesterday & were deligted to be fed homegrown food, home baked marigold scones & rhubarb cake....I was treated to coffee & a chelsea bun at a local cafe for doing all the cooking, lol) Latest collection of random gifts consisted of: 3 plants, 1 box of tissues, 2 free samples of shampoo, 1 pack of pretty paper napkins with butterflies on, 12 cat dinners - he saw them going in his food basket & thought he was on for another breakfast.....he soooooo wasn't!!), 1 soap, a huge pile of magazines, 1 tin of apricots, 1 tin of red salmon, 1 tin of sardines & 1 pack of Christmas craft papers.
*Make tomorrow's packed lunch & work snacks.
*Leftover cheesy lentil squares, cold new potatoes (grown by mr f) & salad for my lunch today - I get ridiculously excited by leftovers.
*Make chicken madras using last of Sunday's rubber chicken & the rescued tomatoes.
*No spending today, as I don't have the car & frankly can't be a*sed with the bus, when going into town will only make me spend money I'd rather keep in my purse.
*All free leisure activity today as I want to progress my knitting project, finish an audio-book, do some family history & update my blog.
Wishing everyone a peaceful, productive day,
    Love from f x

    Hi Everyone

I walked to my veg garden this morning as bicycle back wheel got a wobble & needs work doing on it, so time to smile nicely at OH, or maybe just buy him a big bar of chocolate!

Picked veg for dinner tonight and intending a NSD until I walked past farm shop selling ripe galia melons for 45p each. I had to have 2 of those! Then I popped into coop 'just in case they had any bargains' and bought currants that were 46p instead of £1.85 as they were use by end of month. I bought 2 of those too, but will soon use them up.

While in town I popped into a gift shop where I sell some of my craft items on a SOR basis, and had a nice surprise when I was given £10 for some brooches I knitted a while ago. I'd forgotten that I'd not been paid!

I've had bids on 2 of the 4 items I put on eBay yesterday, so at least 2 will be sold.

Bob - Do try and eat your breakfast before you set out in the mornings!

Well it was actually yesterday but I've done:

Put some change into the bank - £38 worth - which went straight on a credit card that is accruing interest (only 6.9% interest, but it's still interest!)

    Today -
I have 2 old oyster cards I am going to get the £5 deposit back for as well as whatever balance is left on them.
Look for items to sell on ebay and do some research to see what sells.

    Hi All
Today was the 3rd busy day in a row this week at the shop. Clearly the unseasonal weather is good for trade or your good wishes were Hannnah!
My other big news today was I came home to a letter from the ombudsman. Some of you probably remember the whole saga. This has been going on for over 1 year door to door, & almost took my business down.
The ombudsman has upheld my complaint against the Insurer, with some interesting caveats. I feel on the one hand really pleased the whole thing will now be completely over. On the other hand I feel a bit empty & tired. The OM have recommended a payment, on top of the business interruption & winning the full contents cover I should have got. So in total you are talking a fair wack, but that is besides the point. I do feel now is the time to move on. And put this to bed. Just have to sign the form tommorow then wait and hear if the insurer agree to the payment.

Yorkshire - Well done on selling your car by the way, sorry I missed that yesterday.

Foxgloves - You are very good trimming your garden back. The amount of times I've nearly been KO'd by a passing honeysuckle when trying to drag 2 bikes along, whilst junior has a snack after school, is not funny! If only the other home owners would read your post :)

    Evening all :)
Still not feeling great, and a bit overwhelmed at the amount that there is to do given I have been out of action since Sunday :o

So not a big list today. Hope I can improve on this tomorrow, as I need to get ready to look after 5 and 8 year old grand daughters at the weekend.

    * Took the small bookcase I cleaned up yesterday to my sales unit, and it sold almost immediately :T
    * Nothing spent
    * Did a couple of surveys
    * Watered and fed the tomatoes, quince tree and French beans, everything else is just about ok, as it rained this morning
    * Got some free eggs from DD2, as my hens aren't laying much atm, and DD has extras due to looking after additional hens for a friend
*Got some little broccoli plants from a freecycler :)
*Did a couple of surveys, including a Pinecone one that will pay immediately :T
    * Picked and cooked some rhubarb, using the oven while it was on for the dinner
    * All HM meals from stores

And that is it - no housework, washing or gardening, of which there is plenty to do :(

Still, another day tomorrow - and if all else fails, I will simply have to direct OH while he does it :rotfl:

Enjoyyourshoes -I hope your interview went well. Never come across a third interview before!

Determined new ms - what is this left over wine of which you speak? :rotfl:

Foxgloves - your cat's everlasting quest for the best food makes me laugh. Love your Mum's collection of presents :rotfl: My Mum used to do things like that lol.

Hope everyone has a nice evening, or what is left of it :)
