Boiler and energy saving
Comments

Hello, my wife receives high mobility and middle care, I receive low care and mobility. My son has just been awarded middle care and low mobility DLA.
My wife and I work full time and bring home jointly £48k per annum.
What we want to know is what financial support/grants we are eligible for based on our disability benefits for a replacement boiler and other energy savings methods?
I tried Energy Savings Trust but they are not responding!
Thanks.
Clive
This is a joke thread or April fools surely there are not people out there on over 50k net income per year and still asking for assistance/support to purchase items.:eek:0 -

the warm home discount has been extended by a year ( was meant to run for 4 years but they've added a 5th) and it is a payment of £140 made to households that receive certain means tested benefits that meet the additional criteria.
is isn't available to anyone that receives DLA/PIP, only those who receive income related benefits0 -
and you either qualify for all of it or non or it0

It's one of those things you're supposed to find out for yourself, apparently! I'm on EON but I think it applies to all energy companies - contact your provider to find out.Scooter_Princess wrote: »I don't know, I only found out about it because my hubby mentioned my disability in passing when he rang EON - they're sending me some info in the post.
Hi Scooter Princess
As fed up and stressed says, this sounds like Warm Home Discount. Thought it might help if I popped on with a few details.
Some customers (core group) automatically receive the payment without needing to apply. These will be contacted directly by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
As we're sending details, it sounds like you're in a second (broader) group. Customers in this group do need to apply. There'll be an application form in the pack we're sending. You can also apply online through our website if you wish. There's more information on the website, too, including what's needed to qualify for the payment.
We've a limited number of Warm Home Discounts to offer through the broader group each year and eligible applications are given on a 'first come, first served' basis. We started taking applications for the current scheme on 18 May 15 so I'd make sure you don't delay.
We'll let you know if you've been successful within 12 weeks of receiving your application. If all's okay, the payment will be put on to your electricity account by 31 March 16 at the latest. Just to confirm nannytone's advice, the payment this time around is £140.
If you qualify for Warm Home Discount, you might be eligible for help under the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) too. This is a Government led scheme that aims to cut usage by providing help with energy saving stuff like loft and cavity wall insulation. Again, there's more details on our website.
Hope this is of use Scooter Princess. Let me know if you need any more information as happy to help.
