Can I please ask you lot.. who holds on to their clothes receipts? I went on a working holiday with clothes that are no more than 4 years old. I can't see many people holding on to receipts in the hope.. or wish that an airline doesnt loose their case. So not only am I without clothes but I have to buy another set of clothes. Seems strange whilst there is a capped limit.. how are the clothes calculated to arrive at a random figure?

you seem to be confusing the limit/maximum with a fixed fee

    1,131SDR is around £1,010 today
An airline could offer someone £400 for their lost case and the passenger then can produce receipts for items in the case with a value of £5,000, whilst this will see the £400 offer increase, it will not see it go over the £1,010 limit/maximum
If you read your response from Montreal convention I cannot see where they say you are automatically entitled to the maximum. Have you listed contents that total over £1,010?
In many cases you would be better claiming from your travel insurance (especially in cases where the claim is for more than the limit)

Ohh Caz, Im not claiming for the full amount. I was confused if this is the amount everyone got. I am claiming for the 515.97 pounds Thanks for your advice :)
