Quick question. I lodged my appeal with NCP on Saturday but haven't received any notification, and when logging onto their ncp/pcn page it's still allowing me to lodge an appeal. Is this normal or has something gone wrong and I should submit it again?
Do you mean they didn't deal with it on Sunday? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Lol! No, they're not the NHS so I don't expect them to be working 24/7
. I just wondered if today I should have received email notification that I had made an appeal, or when logging onto their website it would show I had a pending appeal. I don't want to sit here thinking my appeal is pending when actually it never submitted successfully, and all the time the clock is ticking for my appeal to be lodged. Just wondering if I should have had some kind of automated reply from them saying they had received it and will be looking into it within x amount of days kind of thing.

Some send an auto response, some don't. They have 14 days to acknowledge your appeal and 35 days to reach a decision. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I realise they have 14 days to acknowledge my appeal, but I'm still a little concerned it may not have submitted ok. On the NTK the date of posting the notice is given as 02/07/2015 with a date the notice is given as 06/07/2015. So am I right in thinking the 28 days to appeal is from the notice given date (06/07/2015)? which will be Monday 3rd Aug). Their 14 days to respond is up this Saturday, but as its the weekend I don't know if it could be extended to Moday...which makes it clash with the last day I have to appeal if they haven't successfully received it. Do they generally respond via email or post can anyone please tell me?
My worry is if I sit tight and do nothing after the 14 days is up they can say they never received my appeal, and I have no proof of submitting it.0 -
so submit it again and take a screenshot
or send it by post with free certificate of posting from the P.O.0 -
The facts are as follows, your son parked in a place where the landowner did not want him to park. They want £100 for the insult, but the law says they are only entitled to the loss he caused them/the landowner. They will have to account to PoPLA for that £100, and will be unable to do so .You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0

Just a quick update. As predicted NCP refused the appeal, but they reduced the fine back down to £60. Not sure if that's normal procedure, or an indication they thought they might lose at POPLA, but my son decided to pay it and be done with it, which is less hassle for me anyway. Part of me would really have liked to carry it on, but its not my money and was causing me some stress (as you may have noticed from the frequent questions :embarasse . So just wanted to thank all that replied/responded for your input and advice :T0

It's purely to put you off taking it to POPLA, because if you did they'd be out the £27 for POPLA + would get nothing from you.
But still, it's out of your hair now, and no-one can blame you for that. At least you can rest safe in the knowledge that you made them work for the money.
For future reference, they'd probably offer you a similar figure about 3-4 letters after an unsuccessful POPLA appeal, too. Because they are generous like that when fishing for scraps.0 -
Well that's £60 needlessly down the drain. A PoPLA appeal would've worked, and ignoring them would also have worked. Can you PM me your son's details so I can raise some invoices for fake fines I'd like him to pay?
Unfortunately everyone who pays these scum simply encourages them and makes life harder for future victims. If everyone refused to pay they'd all be out of business in days.Je suis Charlie.0
