try to keep and use as much or all of it as possible, even if it doesnt make any sense to you , the whole point being to get a popla code so doesnt really matter too much at this stage, they are unlikely to "drop it" because they want as much profit from any mistakes as possible
yes you can add that THE DRIVER bought a ticket etc, if you still have it then scan it and add it to the appeal , but they are not alleging that no ticket was bought , they are alleging that a marked bay wasnt used, a different breaking of the rules
just dont drop "the driver" in it using silly words like "me , myself and I"
word it as a third party appeal
its the people who dont follow our advice who tend to fail , they dont know the topic themselves, yet dont believe that what we tell them is in their own interests
sometimes, you just gotta do it ! regardless (even if its as clear as mud)0 -
Was the area that he parked in supposed to be a parking space or not? If it was, then it needed to be wide enough for a UK car and the smallest is the Renault Twizzy. It would not take much effort to find out the dimensions of a Twizzy from the Renault UK web site or from Honest John/Autoexpress etc.
You are then able to add a new appeal point of a honey trap parking space designed to impose charges on motorists that could not comply due to width.0 -

I wished I was able to post the photos to better explain it. The space he parked in was full sized, but not marked out as a bay. Two rows of bays, 10 spaces in one row (for eg) but only 9 in the other, and he parked on the end of the row in what would have been the 10th bay had it been marked out. I could understand it if that space had been left for cars to be able to maneuver, but my son has said, and the photos seem to back him up that there was plenty of space all around.0 -

Clearly not a parking space,(sorry) but still worth appealing on the rechnical reasons in the Newbies thread.0

On the basis that the charge is already £100, its always worth appealing. You now have 2 chances to make it go away, after which you are no worse off than if you had not appealed.Dedicated to driving up standards in parking0

Thanks Ric
Agreed GuysDad, it's clearly not a marked space but my argument is there appears no valid reason it shouldn't be as parking there caused no hazard or obstruction. Being on the end of a row with a marked bay in front of it made it appear to be a vacant space to a driver in a hurry to catch a train and no other spaces avaialable.
Thanks everyone, I'm going to make the appeal(s) as I understand fully now there's nothing to lose, and a slim possibility it may get upheld at POPLA0 -
you may have a valid argument but its the landowners land and they mark it as they see fit, trying to change that aspect would be a mountain of a struggle and irrelevant to this appeal
concentrate on winning this appeal, not arguing about common sense
the appeal can be won, the moral high ground can be won, but I bet you that is still not a parking space in 5 years time0 -
Quick question. I lodged my appeal with NCP on Saturday but haven't received any notification, and when logging onto their ncp/pcn page it's still allowing me to lodge an appeal. Is this normal or has something gone wrong and I should submit it again?0
