About 18 months ago I started using gumtree again after a break of a couple of years. All my listings were removed and I had the same email.

I emailed back, several times, asking what on earth they were talking about. Then out of the blue about 2 weeks later I got an email saying it was an error and I was allowed to replace all my adverts without any further problem.

Never sold anything there since, I do occasionally place ads and only ever get scammers responding now.

  • Thanks. Although I did appeal they came back to me and said I had CLEARLY been violating their rules and ruled against me!

Gumtree and Ebay are part of the same firm. As you don't pay fees on Gumtree, if you've listed on Ebay they'll cancel the listing on GT in a bid to protect their FVF.

They are about to pilot a one-stop Gumtree and Ebay listing site in Yorkshire. It will be called Ebay-Gum.
  • Doesnt explain why theyve accused me of fraud and put off all my prospective buyers?
