Commiserations to the OP for having to put up with such responses
I would normally agree with this but on the other hand I suspect many people never read Katykat's posts because of that avatar, including the post kicking off this thread.
And I am not unusually thick yet didn't know how to switch off avatars - again info that others also most likely don't know.
I'll clear off now and let people return to the original thread topic.

The waving hand is just a bit of fun guys, I don't think its any more off putting than the scary face & rolling smiley r2010. I never even gave it a thought, but if it bothers you, I'll search for an alternative.:smileyhea A SMILE COSTS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING0

I have no idea what you mean by "such responses".
No-one has been impolite and no offence was intended.
Comments were simply intended as feedback that Katy's posts may not be being read by others who may also find the avatar 'too much' - which would be a shame. The waving hand is just a bit of fun guys, I don't think its any more off putting than the scary face & rolling smiley r2010. Hi Katykat,
Thanks - I resisted mentioning this for some time and only did so now to highlight that others may just avoid reading your posts if they also found it too distracting - which would be a pity.
No offence was intended (as per response to sleepymans above) and I have now (thanks to Bazster) found out how to disable avatars being seen - duh - been on the forums for about 18months now and didn't know I could do that - so apologies.
It's good of you to offer to change it but only do so if you think others (who also don't know how to disable them) may also be put off.
