Can't help thinking OP that your approach was perhaps the reason they've done nothing for you. Not many cars at £6000 need hugely expensive or difficult front brakes and most decent traders would have swallowed the few quid to check/clean/replace and sent you on your way on such a recent purchase. Check the rest of the car very thoroughly to see if you need to be resolving any other issues soon.0

My E class was at 52,000 miles and 2.5 years old when I bought it as approved used. I'd only just passed my test and this was my first car. On checking the car I checked the discs for wear and all were pretty much worn down. I didn't pay top end price - £16k - My insurance co Hiscox insured it on a guaranteed valuation with no deduction for wear and tear for £19k. I was close to doing the deal, and the main dealer said that the discs still had a few thousand miles on them. I didn't budge and told them I didn't want to be forking out for brake discs and pads only a month after buying the car. They changed all the discs and pads.0
