If you are rich and have very expensive luggage, it is always helpful to put your home address on the outside so that the one or two bad apples (sorry, I mean Neihbourhood Watch inclined apples) among the baggage handlers at Heathrow (who are generally honest as the day is wrong, despite some twisted and malicious people calling it 'thief-row') can identify who you are and where you live so they can keep an eye on your gaff while you are away0

I have rainbow coloured luggage straps ( My OH says I am advertising my persuasion, bet Hey Ho ! lol) and also have luggage tags on them. I have one which was a freebie from KLM years ago with a pic of my dearly departed doggy and one with my surname, mob no and postcode.
I can see as soon as the go on the carriage belt that they are mine and watch them like a hawk until they get close to me. Woe betide anyone touching my cases ! lol.
Just don't advertise your full address on a tag, it is open to abuse by someone somewhere.0 -

Long ago I had to identify my luggage in the secure baggage place at Harare airport as my flight was altered. As they say, easy peasy- it certainly had my name on it - red strap, yellow letters.

£8.50 each (& p+p I think) .. but if you buy 4 or more only £5.50 ( and no, they don't have to be the same name!!) make great gifts for friends who travel a lot.
(I still have a luggage tag on the outside , with full details inside the case- strap also stops the luggage having a popped open moment)
My daughter bought me one of those - the first (and of course only time I used it) my bag came onto the carousel without it!

My daughter bought me a big pink leather "P" which attaches to the case handles. It has a pouch to input my name and I put my mobile number too. I like bright luggage and I have a small duffel type bag from Tripp for short trips (floral) and a large Kipling case in bright blue. Both easily identifiable on the belt and not common either.0

We put Welsh dragon stickers on our cases, so we spot them easily.
OH also has a lockable strap, which is easy to identify and TSA approved, as most of our travel is to the USA.Member #14 of SKI-ers club
Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.
(Pity they are mangled by this autocorrect!)0
