  • I've cancelled PayPlan but still waiting for creditors to respond to letters which I sent before Christmas.

Yes, I'm still waiting for responses from my creditors too.

I'm not too bothered though as I intended to have at least one month between my SC DMP ending and my self-managed DMP starting where I would pay nothing to anybody:j. I want to get a bit of money together to start on the F&F route;)

Operation 4 months non payment is working, got the first of our last 3 defaults this morning, 2 months in so better than I hoped. Just the biggie with MBNA (who are being awkward and asking for medical records) and a smaller Virgin one left now.

    Hello everyone

I'm feeling a bit flat today - having had a nice savings account towards F&Fs we have today paid a chunk off our secured loan instead. It made more financial sense to do that and reduce the term, and therefore, interest we will pay on the loan.

The flat feeling comes from the loss of security I felt at having those savings in the bank. I think if they had cleared some the debts at a discount I would have felt somewhat more triumphant because I would have seen one or more debts disappear.

Hey ho - I know in my head we've done the right thing. We've kept our emergency fund and topped it up a bit, so I know we will be okay. Back to scratch for saving up for F&Fs then :)

You know you've done the right thing and every step you make will have a positive impact so chin up January2015

I am so happy to be able to say that just 2 years into our DMP we have officially cleared 25.64% of our debts.

We started at approx £95k and we almost under £70k now.....just have to pay another £14 to get there :rotfl:

I couldn't stop myself - I logged into online banking and paid £15 off one of our debts.....we are now officially in the £60k's.....all be it £1 from being £70k, but it sounds so much nicer to say £60k's :rotfl:

Lowell's have responded to say I can set up a payment plan with them for the same amount that was going through the DMP. I had asked if they'd settle the Halifax debt (£556) and they offered 20% off in installments. But I've said I only have half of that. Basically settling two debts would clear my savings but I'm prepared to do that to get them out of the way. If I can settle the V12 and the Halifax at the amounts I want, then £1468 would be cleared (by paying £600)
    Money money money.
