If you really just want to cut to the chase, then ignore the debts entirely until you get the letter from your creditor saying that they have sold on your debt, this can take up to a year, sometimes longer, but its the only way to force their hand.
But its not for everyone, if you get flappy at the phone ringing, or a mass of letters through the postbox, then dont do it, on the other hand, as long as you realize the procedures they go through, and know that these are all just steps in the dance, then its the right way to go, to get what you want.
Thanks, no letters and calls dont bother me.

Well that can be a possibility, thats why you need to be vigilant, and if a creditor looks like there going to do that, step in and negotiate your way out of it.
In practice its unlikely to happen, until after the debts sold on, and only then if you continue to ignore.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. "How PayPlan Are funded
PayPlan offer 100% free debt advice and 100% free debt management plans. We don’t charge our clients anything – you may wonder then if this is the case how PayPlan are funded.
PayPlan is funded in a rather unique way: rather than charging our clients, we receive donations from the credit industry for our Debt Management Plans. But don’t worry – we remain completely impartial, and will always recommend a debt solution that’s affordable, sustainable, and right for your personal and financial circumstances.
PayPlan’s long experience means we can give you access to a wide range of practical debt solutions to help you find your way out of debt.
How our Debt Management Plans are funded
A PayPlan Debt Management Plan is funded in a unique way.
Rather than charging our clients, we pay 100% of your regular monthly payment to your creditors to clear your debt as soon as possible. The credit industry recognises our services and many creditors agree to pay us a small donation for providing this service to you.
Our impartiality enables us to deal with all creditors, so we don’t favour any creditor more than another, and we’re certainly not affiliated with any creditor."
They are funded in a similar way to stepchange, every provider has to be funded somehow.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Payplan are a limited company and not a registered charity. They do offer free debt advice and plan management. However, I seem to recall they did used to try and sell products to their clients, eg. cover my payments - which was not always appropriate. This type of activity makes it a 'for profit' company.DFW Nerd No. 1484 LBM 07/01/15 Debt was £95k  Now debt free and happy :j0 -

Thanks. I was just alarmed by the note on the MSE page.0 -
Now for my real question.
My current DMP with Payplan is with my, now estranged, husband. We notified PP of our intention to separate last year, but stated that because the joints were run up jointly (single accounts, with an additional card holder in most cases), we would like to split the file 50/50. Or continue yo pay as at the time.
PP stated that only official joint debts could be split 50/50. The rest would be the responsibility of the account holder. So we let it continue.
We have separated and are on the brink of divorce. The settlement agreement (all DIY other than that!), states that we will remain jointly liable for the PP agreement.
The annual review is now upon us. I was dismissed from my job last year due to unsatisfactory attendance with MH problems, so am on benefits. We run separate households now. I totted up the individual liabilities the other night: 2/3 of it is in my name.
So I suppose my question is, will the settlement order override PP? And what do I tell them in the annual review?
Thank you in advance0 -

Ok, DMP's are not meant to be complicated, is it an amicable split ? Are you still speaking ?
Because if you are, you should not of said anything, and just carried on with it.
If however you don't get on, then cancelling the plan, and starting a new one, either self managed, or with stepchange, would be a good idea, how you split the debts is up to you.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
